These are the beginning steps to teach a dog to follow leash pressure as a way of communicating the different obedience commands. Here I'm working with Rocky. When I add any leash pressure it's very mild. I'm adding leash pressure about 1 or 2 seconds before I food lure him into each posture. Through classical conditioning and repetition he with eventually understand the directional leash pressure on its own as a way of communicating each command. ..

Here I'm working on some threshold/door mannerswith my little buddy Squinkel. Open door shouldn't mean run out. Our dog should learn to wait for our invitation to go in or out of any door. This includes car doors and any threshold that we go through together. If you start your walks this way it can have a large impact on the rest of your training.
