Check out the adorable Charlie. Charlie was found as an injured stray on 83!! His finder's believe he was possibly hit by a car because he had trauma to his muzzle, limbs and tail. With some skilled care from our vet and a lot of TLC from his wonderful new owners aka his guardian angels, he has healed nicely. (As you can see from his before and after photos) He still has a bit of a bum leg but he doesn't let it keep him down. We hope that Charlie continues to do well in his new home.

This is Ted. 🩷 Ted came to our facility because his owners noticed he was lethargic and had been vomiting. We did X-rays and it was determined that Ted had a foreign body and would require surgery. Ted had surgery and the foreign body was successfully removed and he is now on the mend! His donut collar is keeping his incision safe and making him look quite adorable. We hope that Ted has been doing well at home!

In observance of , here are our top 4 Rabies safety tips: 1. Keep your pet up to date with Rabies vaccines. The law varies by location, so ask your veterinarian.

2. If you see an animal known to carry Rabies acting abnormally or in contact with your pet, call animal control immediately. Do not handle the wild animal or risk getting bitten yourself.

3. If you or your pet has been exposed, contact your personal health care provider and your veterinarian immediately. Time is critical after exposure to prevent infection and death!

4. Bats are the leading cause of human rabies death in the United States, being responsible for more than 7 out of 10 fatal US rabies cases. Never handle bats or other wild animals as exposure can occur even if bites or scratches aren't visible. If you encounter a bat in your home, yard, or other area that would expose humans or pets, please call your local animal control and report the incident.
