Hello Athenian Sphynx family! 🐾This post will be a little different because I’m going to get personal. A lot of you know us but for those that don’t, my name is Kayla and my husband is Omar. Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share with you all today...
Due to the ongoing health issues that I’ve been dealing with, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our breeding program. 😢 This genuinely hurts my heart. I poured my entire self into Athenian Sphynx and into finding the best bloodlines to build our program with. I did everything I could to ensure our kittens would be born with loving temperaments and have the best odds at living long, healthy lives. Needless to say, sphynx cats became my passion and while I’m sad to be closing this chapter, I will always look back and be very proud of Athenian Sphynx. 🥹
With that said, if anyone is interested in getting a kitten from us… now is the time. We have a few kittens available and sadly, they’ll be our last.😔 We also have several retired cats looking for their forever families too. If you are interested or have any questions we’d love to hear from you. Temporary, this page will remain open, as is, for a few reasons. Most importantly, so that families can send us updates and we can see all our babies grow. I also want to work on getting a list together for people looking for a kitten, so I can point them in the direction of a reputable breeder (if any breeders are reading this please do not comment, I would prefer you message our page directly). In the future we may change the name of the page and possibly the content to promote a new business endeavor. If that happens we will definitely appreciate all that choose to continue supporting us. We know it’s been a long time since you’ve heard anything from us, on this platform and we apologize for that. Unfortunately, our page was H@CK£D (yes, this is the second time 🙁) and we lost access to the account, nearly a year ago. 😿😿😢 Thankfully the person was only able to remove our account access and no personal information was at risk.

*Through some tech savvy steps, we think we may have found a way to publish a post. If you have reached out in the past about the waitlist for our retired cats or are interested, please send us a message. Include information about your family, household and current pets. As well as, why a retired adult sphynx would be perfect for you. There will be a rehoming fee and we will only place our retirees with families that we believe will provide them the life they deserve… nothing but the best! It’s very hard to let go but we think only about them.

💕 These were 3 of the babies
from our first litter. 🥺😩😭

I can’t begin to explain what that experience was like… so many feelings and so naive to think I “knew” what I was doing. I still do not always know, and I’m certain I never will. Reading, having a mentor and studying cannot prepare you for all the lessons taught when YOU are responsible for these precious and so very fragile kittens. And my responsibility doesn’t end there… making sure my intention never sways from why I started breeding. I love these cats and it will always be about the future of these babies. From their families and lives to their health and happiness. The minute this litter was born was when I inherited that responsibility.

Outside of that…

There’s the dreaded “business” end of it all 😧

I currently have so many messages, questions and requests. I do my best to prioritize and respond accordingly but I’ll admit, it has been a bit overwhelming lately. Your patience has not gone unnoticed. 💞 I’ll be making some changes in 2022 so future years can be a little more manageable.

I appreciate and am humbled by it all.
It’s definitely not enough but… THANK YOU 🙏

📢 ‼️ We currently have kittens available to be reserved. Please send us a message if you’re interested.

If you would like to get on our waiting list, we do require a $100 non-refundable deposit. Once kittens are born, we then require another $400 non-refundable deposit making it a $500 non-refundable deposit, for your kitten choice. Deposits come off the price of kitten. You can make payments on the remaining balance or pay in full on pick-up day.

Our standard price for a Sphynx kitten sold as a pet is anywhere from $1,400- $2,400; determined by quality, gender and color.
