Last day with my soul cat. My heart is broken

My boy is my soul cat.. supported me for 14 years and 10.5 months. He was almost 15. Without him, I wouldnā€™t be here.. I would have ended my life for sure. I had very bad depression in my 20s and he got me through it. He was my Velcro boy. Always on me. Loving me. The most beautiful nature. Never bit or scratched. Never hissed. He started getting some health issues around 11. Diagnosed with CKD at the beginning of this year. We stayed strong though. The last 2 months he started declining.. eating less.. appetite stims stopped working as effectively. He was withdrawing more and more from me.. Iā€™m pregnant though and thought it was just the change in smell ( hormones ) that was putting him off. Then he started coughing.. except no hairballs would come. He was diagnosed with asthma, but it was more like chronic airway disease that had been silently brewing, only coming to light now with actual asthma attacks. We got him started on a puffer and steroid injection because his breathing became laboured. He had a few rough days, I didnā€™t know if heā€™d pull through.. I thought about organising home euthanasia so he could pass at home with his brother and sister. As I was on the phone he approached me with a cat toy and started playing. Could he be better? I decided to give it some more time. Over the next 3 days his breathing improved. He was eating. He came into my bed every morning and snuggled with me, laying on my pregnant belly. It was like he had returned. The day he died he laid outside in the sun. He seemed happy and peaceful. In the afternoon he had an asthma attack, a small one. But his breathing seemed different afterwards. I went to give him his rescue puffer and he struggled, usually he didnā€™t.. then he began open mouth breathing. I got his puffer on and administered it.. it did nothing. He collapsed to the ground. I got onto the emergency vet and rushed him in. His tongue was turning blue. He was dying. By the time we got there he let out a little cry.. it was time. He died in my arms with medical assistance. Itā€™s not what I wanted for him. I wanted him at home to pass, but I wanted him to meet my baby in 4 weeks. My cat baby is now gone. The other cats donā€™t understand and I feel so broken. It feels now like he knew.. and maybe thatā€™s why he spent his last 3 days with me like he used to. Giving me love before he left. But god I wish he didnā€™t go. Rest easy my baby boy. šŸŒˆā¤ļø

Had to say goodbye to the only constant in my life for 16 years

Iā€™ve barely been able to function let alone get out of bed. My best friend since I was 9 years old, gone overnight. I love you more than words can say and I miss you more than anything. I will get a tattoo to remember you forever. My Sammy boy.

My cat survived being locked in a shipping container for 4 weeks

He went missing on the night of a rainstorm nearly a month ago. Weā€™d been searching for him ever since, but hadnā€™t heard or seen anything.

Today, we were walking past a property next to our house with an old rusty shipping container in it, when we heard meowing. Weā€™d called for him around this property several times before but heard nothing, then suddenly he hears us talking and starts shouting from inside a closed rusty old shipping container.

The door was heavy and latched shut, but we got him out. He was very skinny and skittish, but recognised us after a few moments

We are over the moon to have him back, but so confused as to how he survived for 27 days. Is this even possible? Or is it more likely he wasnā€™t in the container the whole time?

Please help me choose a name that suits this cutie, not long left until she comes home šŸ˜­

As the title says, my kitten is coming home soon and we still canā€™t find the perfect name for her!! Iā€™ve thought of Penny and Maya, but neither are really sticking. I have another cat called Teddy (whose name is perfect for him as he is a giant teddy bear), and Iā€™d like her name to compliment his, but not necessary. Sheā€™s being registered soon so I donā€™t have long left at all,, Reddit do your thing and help a girl out!

She is a gray lilac tabby with hazel eyes, I just picked her up Monday and her temporary name/nickname is Little Gray, but I am clueless on what her actual name will be. She has a little tan stripe on her forehead lol.
