Happy 2 year gotcha day to Mr. Bones who by far was one of our quirkiest dogs yet. It took him 6 months just to step foot outside into a play yard. He needed time to learn how to trust and be a dog, and we always said he needed another dog to teach him and then along came his parents who already adopted another quirky dog from us the year before. They saw Bones and fell in love and Bones, and Bentley bonded instantly. Thank you Amy for trusting us to help you not only get one dog, but two dogs

If you do then Buddy may be the dog for you !!
Buddy is one of the nicest and friendliest little dogs we’ve come across
While the vet says he is about 10 years old, he thinks he’s a puppy. He loves to run around the room. He loves to try to jump in your lap and sometimes he makes it sometimes he could use a little help he likes to sniff he likes to investigate he likes cuddles and he loves kisses. This is truly a nice dog.
As is often the problem with little dogs and especially Yorkies he definitely needs dental work and probably needs several teeth extracted. Whoever Adopts him must commit to doing this other than that he appears to be in good health. He has seen the vet. He is already neutered and was when he came in. It was hard to get him to stay still so these are not the best pictures, but you get the idea of what he looks like. if you would like to meet, buddy please text our amazing volunteer adoption coordinator Michele Rabinowitz Morello at 914-374-4808

🐾 A very special adoption alert🐾

Tank now Tate left the shelter with his new mom, brother and K9 sister Shea.
Tates family fell in love with him at first sight especially his human brother and he knew he had found a hidden gem
amongst our pups. Tate is a big
boy and a goofball at that, and that's what they loved about him. It didn't take him long to acclimate. His mom shared this with me this morning

Good Morning,
So, “Tate” has been here for almost a week. When we first took him home I was fully expecting a few weeks of chaos and adjustment. What actually happened is that he took 2 days to integrate himself into every aspect of this house and make it seem like he has lived here forever. If I could have described the perfect dog for us it would be him. He is so smart and is the perfect balance of playful and couch potato. On top of that, he is so respectful to Shea and yet seems to help her when she needs it. He waits for her at night to come inside and walks with her. He is a gentle giant. His heart is as big as his head 💙 Thank you so much for helping us and bringing this big lug into our lives! I know being in rescue is so hard but thank you for all that you do.

We are especially grateful to our amazing amazing volunteer adoption coordinator Michele Rabinowitz Morello for this adoption as tank is a truly wonderful dog who been waiting over a year for a home Michele never gave up and now he’s not only in a home. He’s in the best home you could imagine.

We are so happy for Tate and his family. Have a wonderful life sweet boy

We are so grateful for all the folks who are always asking what the cats and dogs at the shelter need and right now what all could use are treats.
This is not because donations have fallen off it’s because as is the case all over our population has risen so the treats do not last as long.
The cats love temptations and of course churro
The dogs need LARGE only milk bones. We do not need any of the smaller ones.
Of course they also love nubz and other specialty items.
