Lost Fantasy Rescue is based out of foster homes throughout SW Virginia. We have do not have a physical shelter/facility, so all meet & greets must be scheduled in advance. We pull from local open intake shelters as well as accepting owner surrendered animals. We work with the community to offer help with spay/neuter assistance as well as food & vetting to keep pets in their home thus preventing t

hem from entering the shelter system. We work with out of state shelters to send dogs/cats from this area to other areas with a higher adoption rate. All puppies & kittens are held by us for a minimum for 3 weeks to be brought UTD on shots & spayed/neutered PRIOR to adoption to the public. PLEASE NOTE: In order to be considered in the as a potential adopter for a animal, we ask that you visit our website (www.lostfantasystables.org), click on the FORMS/APPLICATIONS tab in the menu on the left-hand side of the page, and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption process includes said application, reference checks, vet checks, an informal home visit, a meet and greet, as well as an adoption contract and fee/donation. Ooooh Oh Oreo!

Oreo came to us from a shelter where he was terrified and spent all of his time in the back of his crate. He went to a foster home and decompressed a bit. He has improved by leaps and bounds in his adoptive home! He even has a kitty friend! We love pupdates from our adopters! It's a pupdate from Tito!
Tito came from a partner shelter where he had been taken from a very awful living situation. He was scared and shut down. He didn't walk well because he hadn't been on the floor for some time. He blossomed in foster care and learned that he didn't need to be so frightened. He was adopted and has been doing well and is becoming the little man he was meant to be!

Milo says he will be your ride or die!

This little guy is sweet, cuddly and doesn't snore! He is great with other dogs. We're taking him back to the vet this weekend for a checkup on his skin condition. He does require daily medications and supplements to help his skin and eyes be the best they can be. Bunny went to the vet this week for a checkup. Bunny has an ear infection with a resistant bacteria. We're waiting on a compounded ear pack that will be used to treat the infection.

We think treating Bunny is worthwhile. Bunny came to us not feeling great because of a number of health issues. As we've worked on her health issues she's gone from being grumpy to happy. She came to us from a partner shelter in January and she has been a work in progress.

Its a pupdate! Little Callie came to us when her family could no longer take care of her and her friend Barney. Barney sadly had advanced kidney disease and passed peacefully in our care. Callie received a dental and vetting and was adopted into a wonderful family! Her mom recently brought her this dress while she was in Texas. We think Callie is super cute in the dress! Bunny, Trixie and Max would like to wish you a Monday that is filled with love, happiness and success! These three are currently in a foster home where they are getting the best care possible. Max and Trixie are waiting for furever and Bunny needs additional care for her ear infection. Max and Trixie love car rides and Max likes to talk in the drive through to let the workers know that he's looking for treats! We will be at this year's Hillsville Flea Market and Gun show! We will be selling new and gently used items to help raise money for the rescue! Part 1 of the Spencer glow up...the vetting

Spencer met our vet today. It was love at first sight. Spencer decided that cuddling with the vet was what he wanted to do. He got a thorough examination, rabies vaccine and treats. He's in good shape and will need to be neutered and a dental. He's probably about 8 years of age according to our vet.

We take caring for the animals in our rescue seriously. Because who wouldn't want to give this big love bug all the best things? Stay tuned for Part 2 of the Spencer glow up project coming soon!

One, two, three....stretch.........

Some days can really take it out of you. Coming home to a sweet senior can be the best part of the day. Rocky says he is grateful for his foster and he is grateful for the support of all of our rescue families and fans.

Times are difficult. We can tell. We are being asked to take in more animals compared to previous years. And our resources to do our work are smaller. We do our very best to care for the animals in the rescue. Right now, we are struggling to pay for the hay that our horses need in the winter. We are hustling and working hard with our fundraisers but we have to make hard choices.
