It has taken me a couple of days to even be able to process the loss of such an extraordinary doggy, Koda. You see, Koda Bear was my Goddoggy baby, and I was his beloved Auntie Paige.
One of my oldest longtime dearest, best friends, Kim Jones, adopted Koda eight years ago from a local Shepherd rescue group in the Dallas area. As many of you know, I'm very active in animal advocacy and encourage adoptions for rescue animals. Koda has been an extraordinary dog in every way of the word: gentle, loving, loyal, protective, and a beloved companion.
Koda leaves behind his mom and dad, his sister, Abbey, and his fur siblings. Koda was so gentle that the household kitties would lay on top of him, next to him, always close to him. He was a gentle giant and loved the most recent additions of two new kittens, Violet and Clover.
Kodapassed away peacefully at home two days ago. When I received the call, my heart sank to the bottom of my feet. I couldn't even process what had happened. I had just seen him the week before. Koda was also our garage sale mascot twice a year in the neighborhood. People would come from all over just to see Koda more so than the items for sale. He was that famous and that loving.
My heart is broken for the loss regarding my own deep love for this boy, but even more so for my friend, Kim. She has lost her most loyal, loving companion and her big baby boy. Kim, my deepest most sincerest condolences and sympathies to you and the family on the loss of our Koda Bear. Koda, you will be forever and ever loved our sweet, gentle big boy. Run free, precious one. God bless you.
