What's up rescue pals, I'm Bugs!🐰🖤

Bugs is an absolutely adorable black lionhead boy with the cutest little mane and a heart full of love. Bugs has a calm, kind personality that makes him easy to fall for, he’s the type of bunny who quietly steals your heart just by being himself. This gentle sweetheart is happy to receive soft pets and attention.

He would thrive in a home where he can explore, relax, and be adored for the sweet soul that he is. Bugs is ready to start fresh with someone who will cherish him forever. We may have an adopter interested in him, but wanted to show off his cuteness today!

We have many bunnies who are looking for their forever homes, which can be found on our website. When you fill out an application, you may add your bunny of interest, and we will "reserve" them until you get the chance to meet and see if there is a connection. But you may connect with another bunny after you arrive! It is a good idea to sit with a few different bunnies to see whose personality meshes with yours. Every bunny is unique!

Our adoptable rabbits are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and socialized.

If you have read our Adoption Policy and are interested in adopting from us, please complete and submit the online Adoption Application.

Please consider helping all of the OHRR bunnies by giving to our Vet Care Fund. We care for more than 125 rabbits who come into our adoption center every year, and assure that they are spayed or neutered. They receive the RHDV2 vaccination and all of the care they need. See below for the rescue story of recently adopted Napoleon.🫶

A young white rabbit with red eyes named Napoleon arrived at OHRR with his three siblings in June 2025. They were being used in a vet tech class to practice giving anesthesia. If no one was willing to take these rabbits, their owner (a breeder) said he was taking them to a meat farm. Thanks to a caring vet tech who stepped in and informed us about their sad fate, we made space for them and brought them in immediately.

Napoleon’s breed, the New Zealand, is unfortunately used frequently for meat and animal testing. We are very happy and relieved that these bunnies had another chance. We loved interacting with them and seeing them blossom and learn to trust.

When they lived at the OHRR Adoption Center, Napoleon and his siblings were housed separately in our playroom. These bunnies were full of energy! They put their paws up on the pens for attention whenever we came into the room. But Napoleon seemed much more “wired” than the other rabbits. Even after he was neutered, he was always overly eager, showed a lot of pent-up energy, and had an anxious demeanor. We tried putting him into an even bigger 4’x6’ space, which helped a little, but there was clearly something unusual about his behavior.
We quickly made a vet appointment for him.

Napoleon was diagnosed with anxiety by our veterinarian. He received calming medication daily while in our care, including Gabapentin and was later prescribed Trazodone. He responded very well to the treatment.

Great news! Napoleon is now in a loving home, trying out a bond with his potential BBFF (Best Bunny Friend Forever), Birch. And best of all, his new home has lots of space for him to run and play to help relieve his anxiety! We are so happy for him!
🌟Your contribution will be matched 1:1 by four generous OHRR donors. The bunnies thank you for your support!

"Please don't overlook me because I'm an introvert - I will open up once I get to know you better!" -S'mores, Marshmallow, & Fairy

These introvert gals are so sweet, beautiful, and kind. They have all been at OHRR for quite a long time. These gorgeous girls need a home that lets them be themselves and allows them to open up at their own pace. They are sure to provide beautiful companionship to the right person that takes time to understand them. Every bunny is unique! Their stories can be found at https://www.ohiohouserabbitrescue.org/adopt/, along with our adoption application, if you think one of these gals may be your new best friend.

At OHRR, we teach you everything you need to know about sharing your home with a rabbit. We set up every adopter for success during our adoption appointments. We get all of our bunnies spayed or neutered and they all receive their RHDV2 vaccine. And, we have a Hop Shop in our Adoption Center with the best supplies.

Hay there! I’m Jackson 🥰

This handsome and resilient bunny has a heart of gold. He has blossomed since he arrived at OHRr. He loves attention and being a social butterfly.

Jackson was originally rescued as a stray after being abandoned outside with a few other rabbits. He was spotted near a home where he had been seeking safety under bushes and nibbling from a vegetable garden, doing his best to survive while waiting for someone to help him.

Thankfully, a kind homeowner noticed him before he fell victim to predators or the elements. If you ever see a stray domestic bunny, please rescue them or let your local rabbit rescue know! Here are some tips from our website about rewcuing stray bunnies:
https://www.ohiohouserabbitrescue.org/i-want-to-learn/tips-for-catching-a-stray/

Jackson is estimated to be about a year old and has a gentle, loving personality. Despite everything he’s been through, he is eager to trust, to play, and to be part of a family that won’t let him down. This sweet boy is ready to start fresh in a safe, indoor home where he can play, run, and enjoy the life he deserves.

If you have read our Adoption Policy and are interested in adopting Jackson, please complete and submit the online Adoption Application, in comments.🥰
