Brushing isn't just about keeping your dog looking nice.

During the summer, regular brushing helps remove loose undercoat, dirt, and debris that can become trapped in the coat. It also helps improve airflow to the skin and reduces the chance of painful mats forming—especially after swimming or spending time outdoors.

One thing I've learned over the years is that the brush itself matters just as much as brushing regularly. There are a lot of slicker brushes on the market, and honestly, they aren't all created equal. Using the right one makes brushing more effective and much more comfortable for your dog.

If you're not sure where to start, I've shared one below that I think is a great option for many dogs and their owners.

You don't have to brush for an hour every day. Just a few minutes several times a week can make a noticeable difference.

Sometimes the simplest routines have the biggest impact on our dogs' comfort.

Sometimes groomers notice health changes before anyone else does.

And honestly, that’s not because owners aren’t paying attention. Life is busy. You see your dog every single day, so tiny changes can happen gradually without standing out right away.

But groomers? We’re seeing and feeling your dog up close during every appointment.

That means sometimes we notice things like new lumps, irritated skin, ear infections starting, changes in mobility, sore spots, or even tics hiding under all that fluff.

There have been so many times I’ve gently mentioned something to an owner and they’ve said,
“Oh wow… I hadn’t even noticed that.”

And that’s exactly why routine grooming matters so much.
It’s not just about looking cute after an appointment. It’s another set of caring eyes on your dog’s health and comfort.

Honestly, dogs with owners who keep up with regular grooming appointments are often the ones who get little issues caught earlier — and that can make such a big difference long term. 🐾

Haven’t posted the new salon yet, so I figured I would show everyone what we are working with and what I am bringing in that’s new! It’s not perfect & a lot of sweat and tears came from it. But, its perfect for me and my pups. So thankful for my amazing hubby for making this dream come true!

My sweet friend makes AMAZING homemade soaps and lotions that are for YOU - not the pups (even though I’m sure they would be safe for them too😉)

Small business supporting another is what matters and I’m so thankful to have the wonderful clients that I do so we can do things like this!

I am currently looking for someone who makes homemade, pet safe candles who would like to sell in my salon 😊

I’m Back to Grooming! ✨

Hello everyone,

I’m so excited to announce that I am officially back to grooming! I now have a slightly different—but even better—salon setup. My husband and I (mostly my husband!) have completely renovated one of our garages into a fully finished dog grooming salon.

A little life update: we welcomed another baby into our family, and he is now 6 months old. As an exclusively breastfeeding mom with an almost kindergartener, my schedule will be arranged around my children. I kindly ask for your grace and patience as I navigate this new chapter.

I am truly so excited to return to grooming and to share this beautiful new space with all of you. I’ve missed not only my pups, but also my wonderful clients and the relationships we’ve built. Thank you all for your understanding and support during my time away—it was truly appreciated and very much needed.

In a 6-week head-to-head trial, a turmeric extract outperformed glucosamine + chondroitin. Dogs showed less pain and limping, better joint movement and weight-bearing, and improved activity and quality of life. Both helped, but turmeric consistently delivered stronger results.

This wasn’t a combo, it was a direct comparison: turmeric vs glucosamine + chondroitin.

Key insight: managing pain and protecting cartilage are not the same. Most joint supplements aim to support cartilage, not reduce pain. This study highlights the need for both approaches if you actually want to improve how dogs feel and move.
