Congratulations to Pheasant Flusher’s Sir Oban on Summit (Oban) on his third place finish in the Qualifying at the Minnesota Field Trial Association Fall Field Trial.

Oban is owned by Eric Hawksford and was handled by John Lynch.

We have not posted in a while, so we have accomplishments from three different field trials to share.

-Duluth Retriever Club Fall Field Trial Qualifying - August 30th

At the Duluth Qualifying 40 dogs started and only 5 finished. We had two of the five dogs that finished. Dogs handled by Jerry Petraitis.

4th Place - Piddle Creek’s Having Fun and Loving Life (Rowdy) owned by Jeff Shearen.

Reserve Jam - Wilson Creek’s Mikey (Mikey) owned by Tim Mittlestadt

-Blackhawk Retriever Club August Field Trial. Qualifying August 23rd.

This was the first field trial that John Lynch ran as a trainer/handler with Aspen Creek Kennels. This was also a large 40 dog qualifying and John handled two dogs to finishes.

4th Place - Grassypond’s Semper Fi (Zeke) owned by Deb Porter.

Jam - Wilson Creek’s Mikey (Mikey) owned by Tim Mittlestadt.

-Chippewa Valley Retriever Club Summer
D/Q. Qualifying July 19th.

The Northern Flight Hunting Retriever Association Summer Qualifying started with 40 dogs and our dogs finished with two of the four placements.

Winning the trial was King’s Come on Back Boomerang (Boomer) owned by Andy King.

Taking 4th Place was Piddle Creek’s Having Fun and Loving Life Rowdy (Rowdy) owned by Jeff Shearen.

Both dogs handled by Jerry Petraitis.

Thank you to the judges and all the workers who made the trial run efficiently.

2nd Place - Harvest Moon’s Blizzard of Oz (Ozzie), owned by Mark Ekeroth. This makes Ozzie QA2!

3rd Place - Bustin’ Water’s Earn His Keep (Earnie), owned by Bob Mattlin.

Reserve Jam - Piddle Creek’s Having Fun and Loving Life Rowdy (Rowdy), owned by Jeff Shearen.

Minnesota Field Trial Association Spring Trial Qualifying results.

2nd Place - Dairyland’s Hips Don’t Lie (Shakira) owned by Kyle Hensen and Lee Bilke. This gave Shakira her QA2 title.

3rd Place - King’s Come on Back Boomerang (Boomer) owned by Andy King. Boomer is on a roll with his second placement is two weeks.

Bustin’ Waters Earn His Keep (Earnie) followed up his win at the last trial with a reserve jam. Congrats to owner Bob Mattlin!

Our 2024 Derby National Run came to an end after the sixth series. While we would have loved to make it to the end, it is quite an accomplishment to just qualify and then make it that far. We were able to compete against the best young dogs from around the United States.

Congratulations to Bustin Water’s Earn His Keep (Earnie) and his owner Bob Mattlin. Thank you Bob for allowing us to train and handle such an amazing young dog!

We had a good weekend at the Chippewa Valley Fall Field Trial.

In the Qualifying our dogs earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as the Reserve Jam.

1st Place - Aspen Creek’s Sunny Sun of a Doge (Doge) MH QA2. Handled and owned by Weston Bison. This win gave Doge his QA2 title.

2nd Place - King’s Come on Back Boomerang (Boomer) JH. Owned by Andy King, handled by Jerry Petraitis.

3rd Place - Grassypond’s Semper Fi (Zeke). Owned by Deb Porter, handled by Jerry Petraitis.

Reserve Jam - Dairyland’s Chitter Chatter (Gabbi). Owned by Kyle Hensen and Lee Bilke, handled by Jerry Petraitis.

In the derby, Bustin Water’s Earn his Keep (Earnie) earned 4th place. Earnie is owned by Bob Mattlin and was handled by Jerry Petraitis.

This placement qualified Earnie for the Derby National!

Besides the past weekend at the Chippewa Valley Field Trial, we have had some other recent placements from our dogs.

Weston and Doge took third place at the Blackhawk Retriever Club September Owner/Handler Qualifying.

Dairyland’s Hips don’t Lie (Shakira) earned a jam in the Qualifying at both the Watopa Fall Field Trial and the Hennepin County Fall Field Trial. Shakira is owned by Kyle Hensen and Lee Bilke, handled by Jerry.

Earnie earned the Reserve Jam in the derby at the Hennepin County Fall Field Trial.

It’s been a busy last few weeks. Thank you to all the clubs and workers that put these trials on!
