Hi everyone! My name is Patty Cakes- but my foster mom and dad call me sweetheart and Peaches because I’m just that sweet!
My foster parents tell me I am 7 years old, but that I act more like I am 2! I am quite the bundle of energy- I love long walks, LOVE my toys and playing fetch, and I have been working really hard on my training. I am extremely food motivated! So far, I have been working to master ‘sit’, ‘wait’, ‘lay’ and ‘leave it’ and I have been told I am doing a good job improving every day! To make me an even better girl, I love everyone I meet- including furry friends, even though my past hasn’t been that nice to me.
If you are looking for a puppy who will sit on the couch with you to watch a sports game, I’m not your girl- but if you want a girl that will follow you anywhere (because I never want to miss out on the fun), and who is up for any adventure- then I just might be your perfect fit. I am potty trained and only bark (sometimes) in resistance to my crate but then I settle down nicely.
My foster parents don’t know much about my past, but I have been bounced between a number of homes and am ready for a forever home of my own- for good!

Some stories are written in joy, and some are written in love that looks a little like goodbye. This is Odee’s story.

Odee was found wandering alone, injured and scared. It looked like he may have been hit by a car or jumped from one. His skin was scraped raw and his leg was hurt, but his spirit was still gentle. He came to TLC where one of our foster families opened their home and their hearts to help him heal. They cared for him, comforted him, and showed him what it means to be safe.

As his wounds began to heal, we discovered something we could not fix. A large mass in his chest was causing fluid to build around his lungs. There were no medical options to save him. So we shifted our focus from healing to loving him through the time he has left.

And here is the bittersweet part. His foster family didn’t hesitate. They said, “He is ours.” They adopted Odee so he would not leave this world without knowing who he belonged to. They are giving him a soft place to rest, warm hands to pet him, and a home where he is cherished.

Odee will spend the rest of his journey surrounded by love. No fear. No loneliness. Just love.

SAFE!!! Coming to TLC on Tuesday!!

Meet Angus, 4 months old

This sweet baby was just surrendered to a high kill shelter, and because they are completely out of space, Angus is at risk of being euthanized. 💔

Angus is your typical happy pup. He loves everyone, has lots of goofy puppy energy, and he has the cutest giant ears.

He just needs a safe place to land. We provide all the vetting. You provide the love.

SAFE! Coming to TLC!

URGENT!!! 🚨

Illinois foster home needed for this beautiful silver guy! He is in danger of being put to sleep at the shelter due to space because he is heartworm positive. TLC will pay for his heartworm treatment. This is not contagious to other animals or people. He is around 2-3 years old. Good with other dogs and seems fine with cats. Will be neutered once he gets into a TLC foster home. Help us save this boy! 💙

This is Buddy…the first photo broke our hearts — scared, defeated, waiting behind bars.
The second? Pure joy, trust, and love.

That transformation didn’t happen by magic. It happened because someone opened their home and hearts and stepped up to foster.
