"Danni" was happy for Spa day today. Lots of shedding hair, trimmed the long hair on her legs/jawline/bridlepath, conditioned mane & forelock and braided her forelock. She is showing off her "Unicorn Horn" 😉 her 2nd detached forelock offset to the left...she is very unique ❤️ She is very loved too!

"Courage" had the "Full Moon" zoomies and his 1st day in the Round Pen since such challenging Winter weather. We had a great time and our indoor winter bonding time deepened even more. I am truly Blessed to call him mine and we have many great years and adventures ahead of us ❤️🐎
He has a nice way of going, great conformation, a kind eye and love his color. He is a Lambert lineage (with plenty of Lippitt).
Thank you Gary Napier for selling me my buddy❤️

Very true...

Remember when your parents used to tell you to wait 30 minutes after eating before going for a swim? Unlike us, horses can actually benefit from eating forage before they exercise, as it may help reduce the risk of gastric ulcers.

While a variety of things can contribute to the development of stomach ulcers (medications, diet, stress, etc.), one train of thought is that these areas of irritation result as a consequence of the acid of the stomach splashing against unprotected parts of the stomach lining. When a horse eats forage, the hay can help absorb some of that acid and thus reduce the risk of ulcer formation.

It is important to note that a forage meal (one comprised of long stem hay) provides the most benefit, while eating large volumes of concentrate feeds (such as oats, corn, or other cereal grains) can actually increase the amount of acid within the stomach.
As always, please be sure to consult with your vet regarding further diagnostics and treatments if you have concerns that your horse may have gastric ulcers.

Learning about horses is a life long journey...building trust, communication and bonds from ground work.
Dee-Dee (Baroncrest Sunny Delight) is a beautiful Full Lippitt mare that will be turning 25 in the Spring. She has been a boarder here for 13 1/2 years and she is dearly loved. She still has plenty of s***k and Kate is so patient and full of Love with Dee. If you notice some of their pictures, both of them have their eyes closed and are fully "in the moment" together. Wonderful progress and special memories being made 🙏❤️🐎

We love our Saturday morning lessons, barn and hang out time. It was a "trail ride" around the hay fields lesson for Layla & Lorelai. Mo enjoyed coming along and then she had her bonding & reading time with Dee. Charlotte did a great walking lesson with "Danni" the mini and they did awesome on the road, up around the equipment, in the indoor arena and back. So proud of my "girls" ❤️🐎👍

2. Enhance critical thinking and analysis: Regular reading improves your ability to reason, analyze, and solve problems logically and creatively.
3. Improve writing and communication skills: Exposure to a wide range of vocabulary and sentence structures helps you refine your expression and writing abilities.
4. Reduce stress and anxiety: Reading helps reduce stress by transporting you into different worlds, allowing your mind to relax and unwind.
5. Develop focus and patience: Reading requires concentration and patience to follow complex narratives or concepts, improving these skills over time.
6. Boost imagination and creativity: Reading, especially fiction, stimulates your imagination and enhances creativity by helping you visualize scenes, characters, and scenarios.
7. Improve memory: Reading encourages you to remember details about characters, plots, and information, which strengthens your memory retention.
8. Develop critical thinking: Many books, particularly those on science, philosophy, or politics, challenge you to think deeply and develop your critical reasoning abilities.
9. Inspire and motivate: Self-help books, biographies of successful individuals, or inspiring stories can provide motivation and guidance for your own life.
10. Increase empathy and social skills: Reading about other people’s lives and emotions helps you understand and empathize with them, which enhances your ability to connect with others socially.

Our Story

Riding lessons for ages 3 and up, Private half and one hour lessons, basic balance seat, western, saddleseat, hunt. Driving lessons at your farm or truck in available. Training for ground manners, starting ground work for riding or driving goals, In-Hand, driving and working with owners to continue the process when they return home. Available to teach clinics for horse groups, camps, youth groups and fund-raisers (prices vary by location and needs). I also offer New Horse Owner’s Course for a limited size group. This is ideal for first time horse owners or if you are finally bringing your horse/pony home from a boarding facility. If you have a group of friends interested in that course or a clinic at your farm, please feel free to send a message. Now offering one-on-one time to groom or special time in the Round Pen with a Lippitt Morgan to bring emotional happiness to people that want time with a horse but do not wish to ride.

I started riding at just months old, sitting in front of my Mom and by 2 years old I had my first pony. In 1969, at the age of 6 I attended my first show and have never stopped since. That was the year I got my first Morgan Horse...and the love story continues. I began teaching at 16 years old and Cherry Ledge Farm became a reality in January of 1992. I have dedicated my entire life to helping horses and their owners have the best level of communication possible and sharing my knowledge with those that are interested. In 2014, I started to think about how many people and horses I have been blessed to work with and at that point I figure I have worked with over 1,000 students and over 500 horses, ponies and drafts of all breeds and disciplines. Since 2008, I no longer have done under saddle training but I still offer all of the ground work training and teaching the next generation the skills to carry on my work. In 2017, I proudly and emotionally retired my beautiful Lippitt Morgan Stallion, Mint Black Jack. He was presented in center ring at the Lippitt Country Show in Tunbridge, Vermont and at our home town Woodstock Fair. Jack was in his last Memorial Day Parade in 2018 and I sadly laid him to rest in my arms on Dec. 3, 2018. My young students have been proudly showing his daughter, Ashley and she is the spitting image of her Daddy. If you love Morgans and wish to visit the farm, please contact me by private message. Karen
