Does your dog need a PA (Poopeaters Anonymous)intervention?💩💩🐕
We've all seen our dogs find that unknown surprise in the grass like it was a gift from the bakery placed there especially for them.
Fact is this is a common behavior that many dogs like to take part of.
There are several ways to stay ahead of this behavior.
1; Keeping the yard scooped and free of waste, 2; teaching a leaving it command , and 3; checking in with your vet to make sure there isn't any enzyme deficiencies or nutritional imbalances.
If your pup needs support with this let us know 😊

🐾Training Tip🐾
Ever wonder how to get your pup to hold a position?
That's where a terminal marker comes in.
A terminal marker is a word(break, free, or ok) or even a clicker that tells your pup that is ok to leave their position.
To teach this you will need to add value to the word or clicker you want to use. Start by using food( you can use their meal food for this or a high value treat), give the marker word or clicker sound, then a handful of food. Word 'free'; give food. 'Free'; give food. Over several sessions pup should start looking to you when hearing their marker waiting for their reward. When teaching the marker you don't need to ask anything of your pup. For now just freely give the marker, then food. This can also make for a fun game with lots of engagement. Give the marker and toss a pice of food across the floor. As they come running back, give the maarker, toss more food. After the terminal marker has been well established start to incorporate it into your sessions.

🐾Training Tip🐾
When working with your pup start in a area that has little to no distractions. This will help with focus and engagement on you. When your pup starts to get really good at what you're wanting to teach, work your sessions in a different area. Gradually move to new areas for new challenges. And remember keep sessions short & fun!😊 Follow for more tips.

🐾Training tip of the day! A well trained dog isn't just obedient-its confident, happy, and fulfilled. This is what engagement looks like : focused, relaxed body language, and a willingness to learn. Training should always be a positive experience built on trust, consistency, and clear communication.
Training tip: use play as a reward! Toys(like these pictured), can be as powerful as food when reinforcing good behavior. Whether you're working on basic obedience or advanced skills, remember to * Keep sessions short & fun, *Reward effort, not just profection, and * End ona positive note. A trained dog is happier dog‐ and a stronger bond for life.

Our early puppy basics program is for puppies 8 months and under. This program is broken down into 2 stages each lasting 2 weeks. The first 2 weeks are focused on learning markers, positions, potty habbits,, crate training, recalls,, and some light leash pressures.
Puppy goes home with homework for you to practice for a few weeks. When pup is ready to start the next phase, Growing puppy Basics Next Steps for the next 2 week stage, we focus on holding positions in place, more recalls, leash pressures, and walking on leash.
We feel it's really important for your involvement in your pups training to help establish healthy habbits and good manners.
If you need help with your puppy training let us know if we can help.

Training is team work! The basics are tought and practiced here in sessions. Meeting with owners is an essential part of training. Teaching and passing on the education they need to be able to create a system of training at home. Practiced sessions at home gives your dog structure and creates the confidence they need to be an obedient pup.
A few February openings are available if you are interestedin getting started.
