Meet Bob. 🤎 Bob has two favorite hobbies:

1. Sitting in laps.
2. Falling over dramatically for attention.

At 11 years old, Big Bob enjoys brushing, batting at wand toys, naps in the sun, and making himself comfortable on any available human's lap.

Most of the time, you'll find him upside down, stretched out on the floor, or rolling around like a cat who has absolutely no worries in the world.

Bob also has diabetes, but it's well managed with a prescription diet and medication. He takes it all in stride.

If your lap has been feeling a little empty lately, Big Bob would be happy to fix that. 😼

❣️ ADOPTED & LOVED ❣️

Are you sitting down? Because Lexi & Vinnie are HOME! 🥹

These two 10-year-old Chihuahua siblings needed a family who could appreciate them exactly as they are - quirky, fearful, sensitive, and often making choices that only make perfect sense to a Chihuahua.

Enter Roxana and Todd. With years of experience with dogs who need a little extra patience, they came prepared with thoughtful questions, a solid plan for helping Lexi and Vinnie settle in, and - most importantly - no expectation that their new dogs need to be perfect.

Lexi and Vinnie seemed pretty happy with them, too. They climbed all over them, happily accepted chicken bribery, and then also biting them, because, ya know. Chihuahua brains.

Now that they're home, Roxana says, “It’s moving along slowly but surely. We are very optimistic that they are going to be happy once they feel settled and safe.” And honestly? So are we. ❤️

Congratulations, Lexi & Vinnie! We can't wait to watch these two lovable doofs settle into their happily ever after.

Okay, dog people. Your turn. Meet the last 3 of the 7 seniors who joined us over the weekend!

• 12-year-old Wolfgang
• 12-year-old Otis
• 9-year-old Miley

Wolfgang is a scruffy terrier mix who arrived as a stray and is currently giving very distinguished old man vibes.

Otis is... well, we're not entirely sure what he is yet. 😂 He's dealing with some pretty nasty flea dermatitis, so he's getting treatment and plenty of TLC while we wait for the poofy white dog underneath to emerge.

And sweet Miley is a senior Beagle who came to us after her shelter was hit hard by the devastating storms and tornadoes in Indiana. They reached out for help moving animals into safer situations, and we were happy to help this little lady.

All three are getting some quiet time to decompress while our medical team gets started on their intake.

We're already pretty fond of these three lovable weirdos and can't wait to see them settle in and start to thrive. ❤️

Phew! What a weekend! 😮‍💨 SEVEN senior pets found safety at Young at Heart over the weekend, thanks to a whole village of loving people who helped make it happen.

A special shoutout to our very own YAH volunteer Ortrud, who stepped up to help get six of the new seniors safely to us in the last stretch of their transport.

First up, meet the four older kitties!
• 9-year-old Stormy
• 9-year-old Opal
• 14-year-old Trooper
• 9-year-old Carina

They're all getting settled in with some quiet time to decompress while our medical team gets started on their intake. Once they're cleared, they'll be ready to meet their new friends in our community cat rooms.

And we're already getting a glimpse of who they are. Carina is an affectionate girl who happily soaks up attention, Opal is an expert biscuit-maker, Trooper is social and loves a good brushing, and Stormy is a little more reserved but can't resist a good chin scratch. 😻

They're safe, they're adorable, and their next chapters are just getting started.
