🐾 Heat Stroke Awareness for Pets ☀️
As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that pets can overheat much faster than people. Heat stroke can happen quickly and can become life-threatening if not treated right away.
🚫 Never leave your pet in a parked car — even on a mild day. Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise dangerously in just minutes.
⚠️ Signs of heat stroke in pets may include:
Excessive panting
Drooling
Lethargy or weakness
Vomiting or diarrhea
Bright red gums
Difficulty breathing
💧 Help keep your pets safe:
✔ Provide plenty of fresh water
✔ Ensure access to shade
✔ Avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day
✔ Walk pets early in the morning or later in the evening
If you suspect your pet is experiencing heat stroke, seek veterinary care immediately.
At Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital, we are here to help keep your pets safe and healthy all summer long.
