A dog walker left one final note after taking senior pittie on her last walk 🥹

Seth wrote. “To know Al was a privilege. The happiest old lady who had every reason to be miserable. When I took the job walking Alison, I intended for it to just be a job. That did not last long. Her infectious personality quickly melted my heart and the hearts of anyone who got to know her. We formed a bond I will forever be grateful for. There was one thing I could always count on, and that would be countless tail wags the second she saw me open the door. She was there with me during some of the most stressful times, using her calming personality to be therapeutic. A truly once-in-a-lifetime dog, she will be missed in the hearts of everyone who knew her. I loved Al and every second I got to spend with her.”

National High Five Day 2026 is on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Celebrated annually on the third Thursday of April, this day encourages spreading positive vibes by giving high fives to friends, colleagues, and strangers….. and our furry friends!It originated in 2002 at the University of Virginia as a fun, community-building gesture.

Goal: To boost morale, celebrate, and promote goodwill. Appreciation: Use the day to recognize co-workers and teammates, friends, family, pets!

It’s a dog walker’s favorite time of year (weather yes, ticks no!) Ticks climb from the ground up, so tuck in your socks and shirt! Check for ticks when walking dogs on the sides of the roads … towns do not treat them. Ticks come out in dried leaves… it’s actually the grass coming back underneath it! Protect yourself, protect your pets with collars or sprays, protect your yard with tick maintenance. We recommend a natural spray you can spray on yourself, your pet, your clothes. Made from essential oils, nontoxic… (if you spray your head it also keeps gnats away!) our 2nd recommendation is the .mitt (thanks .penny ) This mitt is like a magic mitten to grab ticks right off your dog! Do this when you first get back from an outing. The 3rd thing we recommend (for shorthair dogs, esp.) is a lint roller. It acts the same as the tick mitt.
Ticks bites are no joke. We have both had them & lymes disease… protect yourself & families! This is a Happy Canines ! If you think Sharon or Kelly dress a little strange in the spring and fall… know that we are protected! 😂
