This mama came to us a couple months ago from one of the worst kill shelters in CA and was noted as "possibly pregnant." The photos you see were from just a couple days after she left the shelter and as you can tell...there was no question she was expecting! I think anyone who's been pregnant can empathize with how she was feeling 😂. Now mama and her puppies are ready for their forever homes! Bruce A2181155 found something to smile about this Valentine's Day. We were told that he was completely unsocialized and not able to even be examined by the shelter. Lots of patience, kindness and love from his foster family has opened him up to a whole new life!

These beauties were featured in Marc Jacobs latest Valentines Day advertisement! We love that a company like them can help a rescue like us share dogs in need. 💙 These puppies were lucky to make it to birth and have now moved on to being spoiled and adored. Most of them went home to their families this weekend but two are still looking for homes! NJ Based

Our final survivor of the year has arrived and he is ready for a new beginning! He was scheduled for euthanasia today and might never have seen the new year but instead he's going to a wonderful home where he can decompress and feel safe again. If Lonely Paws has helped you complete your family or touched you this year, please consider donating towards our New Year's fundraiser! As many of you know, we pull a handful of death row dogs every week from euthanasia lists across the country, we do this and fund their care often times out of our volunteers personal funds. Sometimes rescue is beautiful in a profound and deeply sad way. For Leif, he finally found rescue, safety and a forever home and only a week later began having seizures which were thought to be caused by a mass in his brain. There was no cure. We could only hope that the time he had left would be positive for him. And it was! His fosters became his family and he was able to experience all the love and care he hadn’t had in his lifetime. He was quirky and adorable and a joy for his new family. Unfortunately, after only a few months the seizures became too much for his little body. We said goodbye to Leif and wish we could have saved him sooner. Our condolences and greatest thanks to his wonderful adoptive family. 💙

These sweet boys, Appa and Noche, are in urgent need of a permanent foster or adopter. What they need for Christmas is stability and a place to call their own. They are extremely bonded and so sweet together. They have been around other dogs and children and are good with all. They are a low energy pair and are potty trained and crate trained.

They are neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.

If you can be there, hero and step up, they need a place by Sunday! After that, we are limited on fosters or boarding who can accommodate both due to the holiday. It would be very difficult for them to be apart and we need a miracle for them this Christmas!

Hero through and through! Stormy is the ultimate success story. She became pregnant in the shelter, gave birth to 8 puppies, was abandoned again and then left to die when her puppies were pulled without her. Thankfully on her euth date, an amazing man stepped up to offer her a home. Stormy, now Rogue, is living large in San Diego with the knowledge that she will never roam the streets alone again. She will never be unwanted. Huge shoutout to her new dad and a big thank you from all of us at LPAN 🎉
