Miss Freja giving Sabina wings ❣️
These two have been working together since late fall to balance motivation and energy, and today it all came together to result in many moments of brilliance and growth. Very proud of them both!!

Last week we had our first outing to Double C Farm and it was a blast! Some seasoned ponies came for a refresher and several young horses went for their first time. We love going here each year not just as a test, but as a quiet, easy oppertunity for team building for our horses and riders in a setting that offers unique obstacle oppertunities. We always begin in hand and make sure everyone is on the same page, starting with very simple tasks and then advancing in ask, and then we go for the same undersaddle. As we discover limits we back off, rework the conversation even all the way back to the ground then we try again. No one has to do everything, but we make the most of discovimg where there are limits and finding ways to navigate through them.
We tend to pair experienced horses with young ones to help show them the way and support them emotionally, which usually sets a good tone for the outing.

Big Lincoln was the super star of this visit, quelty and thoughtfully working his way through many things he's never encountered before. His is young and big, but has proven to be extremely willing and sensible about stuff he's not sure of. Very happy with how he did excited about his future 😍

Will be back with another round next week!!

πŸ™Œ Our first WE show of the season was at Frying Pan park last week and 3 of ponies made it out to compete. I ended up helping the show day one and showing day 2. Pickles came for his first outing of the seaaon at L3 to pick up where we left of last season, and he proved he has made some progress over winter! We had a couple little mistakes is Dressage but recovered nicely in EOH and actually found a few places in the speed round to giddy up and hit the gas a little more. I was pretty happy with the places we made improvement and how he handle some tricky lines in EOH, like picking up the garrocha, spearing the ring, going right over the jump and maintaining left lead to roll back to the left and replace the garrocha in the barrel back behind the jump. Now to keep on polishing the simple changes and get him stronger in the collection!

Cera brought both her beautiful πŸ’œ Ella and Joe for their second outting of the season, earning qualifying scores on both! Ella has some tense moments in Dressage the first day but they ironed right out by EOH and they had two beautiful rounds, winning their division! Joseph showed what he had been working on over winter, keeping his collection in the garrocha lines that also included a few other obstacles. Really excited to see him have fun AND remember his job!!

BIG thanks to all the volunteers it takes to make these shows go so smoothly πŸ™Œ
Was great to see everyone out and about, looking forward to the next one!❣️

πŸ€ Four Keep ponies braved the elements and made it out to the first WE schooling show of the season at Loch Moy this past Saturday! Was our first time hosting WE at Loch Moy and it was wildly successful, despite so much wind they had to put bricks on every stand of the dressage court 🀣

We had a built in bank and water feature on a blue stone arena as part of our course. The arena was big enough to house the dress court at one end, a full course at the opposite end, and ample warm up between. Tidy and efficient, can't beat that for a one day show! πŸ™Œ

🎊 Karens boy Odiseo took championπŸ… of the Intro division, and Adriannes Lia snagged 2nd πŸ₯ˆ with her very first WE outing ever, and Ceras lovely Elle scooped up a close 3rdπŸ₯‰ Ceras and Joe took 2nd place πŸ₯ˆat L3, picking right back up where they left of end of last season to refresh before officially making the leap to L4 this season. So very proud of our ponies and how well they did, considering we are still under winters relentless grip!

Sweet start to the season, for sure! ❀️‍πŸ”₯
