Another great WE show last weekend for two newbie Keep Ponies at the Oak Spring Equestrian, LLC summer schooling show!! This time two beautiful bays showed up to play 😎

🍀Lincoln rocked his showing debut at his very first show EVER! He came to us very lightly started a year and a half ago and has struggled a little with environmental anxieties. But he has found so much purpose and focus in the obstacles, they really have grounded him and gave him a place he can truly shine 🌟 He had a few moments of insecurity through the day, but stayed right with me and came back to the tasks at hand each time, giving me the best effort I could have asked for. We had square halts, a very steady, rhythmic cadence throughout, he trotted all the things, and took the whole show environment completely in stride. What more could you ask for!? Well, we ended up high score of the Dressage phase, and winning the Intro class overall 😍

🪻Lia had one show under her belt earlier this season at the March Loch Moy Show, but she stepped up this time and came with much more energy and engagement with the task of showing what she can do! Fitness and self Carriage have been her biggest challenges and we are starting to make some progress in those departments. She is such a natural at the obstacles and just as cool as a cucumber, so its easy for her to act the part, but this time we actually put it all together and she ended up winning the EOH trial for the Intro class, and after coming in right behind him in Dressage, she dead tied with Linc for over all win in Intro for the day!! We even had a couple bobbles on course that once we clear up, this little mare will be unstoppable 💜🫶

Really couldn't not have been prouder of both ponies, and very much look forward to each of them getting out to rated shows later this year, big things to come for them both. How lucky am I!?

🌟 Must brag on our girl Ella, I had the oppertunity to show her with Odiseo at the EPAWE - Eastern Pennsylvania Working Equitation show last Sunday. Cera is in the final throws of her dissertation so I got the oppertunity to take Ella to her only 3rd rated show ever, and keep building on her confidence. Was my first time showing her, and she was led an absolutely stellar example for Odieso to follow! They were neck in neck for final ppacing in the same division, with only .03% difference in their averages, Odiseo just edged out the win. Ella did take home the high score Dressage for Open division for the day! 😍

Ella had a few moments of uncertainty in the EOH that gave away the win there, but she reset each time and carried on like they never happened and got right back to task. Can't ask for more than that in a young horse!! 🙌 Highlights in her Dressage were how much swing she had in her gaits and supple she maintained, with good forward, which showed up in some really nice corners. In EOH she trotted everything with ease, her transitions were crisp and she always looked forward to the next activity. Very excited about how well she handled this event, and continuing to develop this great mare. Shes one of those well earned mares, for sure 😍

🌟 Odiseo is officially a show horse!! 🌟
He joined Ella and I for the EPAWE - Eastern Pennsylvania Working Equitation show this Sunday and really could not have handled it better!! It was nothing fancy, but very solid and mostly accurate, and he was such a champ for his first go at a busy recognized WE show 🙌 We had polished moments of harminy and ease, then some moments of uncertainty that green horses all start out with, and he negotiated it all with poise and grace. He really did not let the show atmosphere affect him, he was so relaxed and I could actually tell he was having fun negotiating everything as we went. We landed a 67% average to win the Open Intro division AND high score EOH ride of the whole show!! 😍
I could not be happier for him and his momma, as this is her dream come true. Now its their turn next 💜🙌🥂

The highlights in my mind were our trot, halt, rein back, return to walk sequence. He flowed so beautifully into the halt, settled, shifted weight back for the RB, then rocked back a little more even at the end of the 3rd stride to walk cleanly out with such great balance, it was so smooth. So much purpose and intention in that set of movements and it should flow like a dance. That has been a hard set of movements for him to organize and keep himself together through, especially under show pressure and I really felt like that was a highlight this time! The next was our double slalom in the sitting trot. I'm not sure I've ever ridden such an accurate, symmetric DS! He didn't loose himself for a single moment. In fact, I could feel him building engagement and throughness as we went, and by the last turn we really could have just softly cantered off. Thats how you know its time to level up! 😎🫶

These two have been working together since late fall to balance motivation and energy, and today it all came together to result in many moments of brilliance and growth. Very proud of them both!!

Last week we had our first outing to Double C Farm and it was a blast! Some seasoned ponies came for a refresher and several young horses went for their first time. We love going here each year not just as a test, but as a quiet, easy oppertunity for team building for our horses and riders in a setting that offers unique obstacle oppertunities. We always begin in hand and make sure everyone is on the same page, starting with very simple tasks and then advancing in ask, and then we go for the same undersaddle. As we discover limits we back off, rework the conversation even all the way back to the ground then we try again. No one has to do everything, but we make the most of discovimg where there are limits and finding ways to navigate through them.
We tend to pair experienced horses with young ones to help show them the way and support them emotionally, which usually sets a good tone for the outing.

Big Lincoln was the super star of this visit, quelty and thoughtfully working his way through many things he's never encountered before. His is young and big, but has proven to be extremely willing and sensible about stuff he's not sure of. Very happy with how he did excited about his future 😍
