After completing our kidding season and getting to participate in a last minute LA, it’s time to let a few girls go to make room for the up and coming young ladies to have a chance.

We actually have 3 girls available at this time. They are all 1 yr old first fresheners. I am waiting for help to snap a picture of the last girl, and will post her in the comments when I get them. Her name is Gaddy and she is a full sister to Gladness pictured below.

Cherith is a CandyMan granddaughter and milking very well for a 1st freshener. She has given me over 5lbs each on her first 2 milk tests.

Gladness and Gaddiel are both a line breeding on my oldest doe Gypsy, and her daughter Gergie, both who have scored a final score of 90 as older does. These 2 girls aren’t giving quite as much milk, just over 3 lbs each, but the potential is their and they come from a slower growing line. So they are definitely girls you can use to move your herd forward.

Easy answer-amazing scores!!

The most wonderful LA experience I have had in my years of raising these beautiful animals!!

Today I actually decided to sit and listen and ask questions and actually SEE what was being explained!! Our Appraiser did an amazing job answering my questions and explaining what she was seeing. She left me feeling uplifted and so encouraged in my efforts. I have to say this has not always been my experience, so thank you Melanie, we enjoyed our day with you and were blessed with knowledge and confirmation along with the desire to go even further.

I won’t try to list them all here on this one post, but I will say they we had a couple exciting final sores of 90, several high 80’s, and no one scored below an 82. All this may not sound like much to others, but guys we appraise 29 animals today, I am over the moon with where our herd has come too after all these years. I will try to do individual posts highlighting each animal.

Today’s boy is a Lamancha born on 2/5/26. He’s a super stout dude and jumps out to me every time I come to the barn. He’s so sweet and loving, literally always up my butt!! I can’t walk away without him chasing me down!!
