So, just had to do a single "favor" for someone...
Turned into multiple asks from multiple people with the concept of currency being "appreciation".
It got to the point we're I said, "boy, it sure is fun hanging out with you guys"
That being said, the value of reinforcement matters...
If the value is truly there, I'll handle it and you'll never hear me say a word.
Because at the end of the day what does that "appreciation" actually mean?
It becomes very much the same concept with our dogs.
We get what we give...
This is why even when using food you still may struggle to get the dog to do something simple...
Nothing against food, it's truly a great tool when applied correctly.
But, if not used correctly then we never add the value and then we struggle to get the dog to do something simple.
That food is the value of our appreciation if you will.
That means there will be things more valuable than our appreciation especially if the compensation doesn't feel fair...
This is often where we lose value in the relationship itself.
True appreciation shifts and is shown by our actions to maintain or build the relationship.
The dog will always reflect that.
