Someone's definitely having themselves a good time...

Grocery stores and gunfire...

Not two concepts you would normally put together but here we are.

I can't tell if they're possible to hear in the video because they keep going.

So we'll take advantage of the opportunity to continue desensitization.

I had someone tell me a few weeks ago, that the days of working through things are gone...

That says a lot about what's trying to happen these days, not just with our animals but also with people.

Honestly, if you think something can't be done, then you're absolutely right.

Don't impose your limits on anyone else.

If you dedicated yourself to your craft as much as you dedicated yourself to trying to knock someone else down, maybe you could get somewhere.

Today I finally decided to learn more about how to edit our website, and I made so much progress!

We had options for people to hire, but I didn't want to accept defeat and took to YouTube.

After about 4 short videos, I was mostly able to answer the questions that I was getting hung up on.

The rest, I figured out as I went.

Definitely a successful, productive day.

The website should be up and published for all to see soon so stay tuned!

The importance of doing something different...

It's come up in a few conversations lately.

As trainers we really talk about consistency and how important it is...

When it comes to enrichment and fulfillment it's crucial that we make changes based off the needs of the dog.

For example, puzzle feeders...

Not picking on puzzle feeders specifically but it's just a really good example.

If we offer the same puzzle day after day, the dog often gets to a point where they excell at it.

Once they excell at it it loses any true sense of enrichment and fulfillment that it had to offer.

Then we might be off to the store to buy another and repeat that same pattern...

Keep in mind it's all dictated by the level of the dog in front of us.

Mae for example needs more activity like this...

Her energy level and expression means she needs more challenge, so she gets it mixed up more than say Ghost who has much more sustainable energy.

That means that Mae ultimately needs more things switched up more often than Ghost.

Luckily we can switch things up in ways that are beneficial to each dog as individuals.

It's not that we don't use puzzle feeders or bowls but it's a crucial part for each dog to switch it up as you've seen us do.

Our attempt is to keep some level of challenge consistent as it benefits our two more.

Now that doesn't mean it has to look the same for your dogs at home, but just that whatever approach taken should be individualized.

That's part of why most of my homework especially in the beginning is some form of hand feeding because it makes us become the puzzle feeder and we can alter how that puzzle works more freely.

It's also super beneficial for building engagement so it's one of those multi benefit type scenarios.

Life in itself is a puzzle, let's start trying to make sure we apply the right pieces as we need to.

Just something to think about...

There's more people out there that will give you all the reasons why something can't work...

Do it anyway...

Despite all the things that could go wrong, start looking for every reason that it can go right.

You'll start racking up those wins, regardless of who's telling you you're doing it wrong.

Somewhere a long the line, it seems like we lost sight of things...

We started to seek the idea of comfort over the idea of peace.

Do the uncomfortable work, because it brings peace...

Comfort keeps us stuck in a constant state of fear..

To truly live is to change...

Change is terrifying, but it's also liberating.

📣For a limited time, we're offering FREE virtual sessions to help us develop our virtual program!📣

Obviously, there are some issues where an in person trainer is absolutely necessary, but if you are interested, here is the criteria:

•Must be out of our service area/travel range (This would be outside of MA or Southern NH).

•Any cases where an in person trainer would be recommended for safety reasons (Aggression cases, etc.) will not qualify, unless it's specifically for management-based techniques (muzzle conditioning, etc) while waiting for an in person trainer.

If you're interested but unsure if virtual sessions would be the best for you and your unique situation, feel free to reach out.

We've had virtuals in a few states already, but we need a bit more experience to fine-tune the program, so get in on this while you can.

It is only free for a limited time and there are limited spots available.

The blue tongue is a distinctive feature of the chow chow, a dog breed originating from China.

Although the reason for their tongue being this color is not known for certain, there are several theories.

One theory is that the chow chow's blue tongue is due to a lack of pigmentation.

It is believed that the absence of tyrosine, an amino acid necessary for pigment production, may be responsible for the blue color of the tongue.

However, this theory has not been confirmed.

Another theory is that the chow chow's blue tongue is the result of an excess of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color.

It is believed that melanin accumulates in the chow chow's tongue, giving it its distinctive blue color.

Although it is not known exactly why chow chows have a blue tongue, it is a unique feature that makes them easily recognizable.

Keep on keepin' on...

Sometimes the best we can do is a band-aid.

The point of that band-aid is to act as a temporary placeholder...

Different levels require different methods...

That means us knowing whether we are solving something short-term or whether it's more of a long-term approach.

In the best possible scenarios, it should be a bit of both.

Just something to think about.

Murphy is a really nice young dog.

We went over a lot, and to be honest, his family has done an amazing job on getting him where he's at.

The plan is to build off of the platform they have in place to help Murphy more overall in some places where he's got some extra insecurity and excitement.

Out of the gate, our focus is on building more engagement and focusing on helping him find an off switch, while improving his obedience levels.

Bringing more structured play and consistency overall as well, while implementing other games to start helping him consider the concept of rest being a good idea.

We'll also be helping him with leash skills and most likely working on his dog to dog based skills as we go.

We are looking forward to helping with clearing up communication and his overall development with his family so we can bring out the best that this loveable goofball has to offer.
