Quail Run Farm has fresh chicken eggs ($4 per dozen) and fresh duck eggs ($6 per dozen). The chickens are young so the eggs are still small but duck eggs are nice sized and excellent for baking. If interested, please send a PM to make sure we aren't sold out.

More progress in the garden today. Setting out more corn--will have a total of 8-10 varieties by the time we're done planting corn. Tomatoes are tarting to turn pink and the snow peas are quite prolific--delicious steamed or stir-fried. Stay tuned for grand opening, but home to open the first weekend in August for vegetables and have eggs by September.

The wind of the past few days has died down. Chicks and ducklings are growing! We can see the color differences in the Wyandotte chicks as their feathers start to come in. And, while the Blue Swedish ducklings are still all fuzz (though three times the size of the chicks) lots of color variations there too. Several of the ducks are tufted. And Princess Emma, the Grey Saddle-backed Pomeranian goose and farm mascot towers over them all. Their barn, ordered from Lowe's, should arrive (with installation) by the end of June. 90 degree heat in Wishram Heights today. We started Glass Gem corn--an heirloom variety. Glass Gem was developed by Carl Barnes, a Cherokee, from a variety of traditional corns. It comes in a variety of jewel colors--each cob unique. It should be ready for harvest in September.

Welcome to Quail Run Farm. The garden is growing, the birds are getting bigger and opening day is coming up soon. We will be open on Saturdays from 10AM to 3PM. Other hours by appointment. In the garden now are more than 20 varieties of tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, summer and winter squash, ornamental gourds and pumpkins, multiple varieties of beans, cucumbers, lettuce and herbs.
