Wise County Animal Hospital is a small veterinary practice located in Wise, VA. We offer many services including boarding. Aletha Cole is our office manager.

Wise County Animal Hospital(WCAH) is dedicated to keeping your pets healthy. We would love for you to come in and meet our staff. Our receptionists, Laurisa Stanley and Savanna Mays, will meet you with friendly smiles and be happy to help you in any way. Our veterinarians are Dr. Luis Gonzalez and Dr. Matthew Watson. Our team also includes a Vet Assistant are Kayla Taylor, Justin Newton, and Marle

e Robinette. Debbie Gazda leads our kennel staff with her experienced pet care in our boarding facility, along with Gabby Collins and Raynalynn Kannon. Krystal Chester is our groomer with more than 13 years experience. She takes pride in what she does, and makes sure every pet that leaves her grooming facility is in tip top shape. Every pet that leaves here has their bath, haircut, pedicure, a**l glands, ear hair plucked and ears cleaned, and a seasonal bandana. We also offer pet sedation if your pet is anxious or aggressive. Your pet will receive the best of care from the time it walks into the lobby, to the time it walks back out. Our goal is to serve all animals to the best of our ability, and to make sure pet owners are just as happy with our services.

Today our doors closed for the final time. We want to take a moment to sincerely thank every pet parent who trusted us to be part of their pet’s journey. Caring for your animals has meant so much to all of us.

We know the last little while has been difficult, but our staff truly tried to make every moment count for you and your pets.

Attention Clients,

Our office is currently open Monday–Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for medical records requests and medication refills only.

Please note that our doors will officially close on April 2nd, so we kindly ask that you submit any medical records requests before that date.

For the quickest and most efficient way to obtain your pet’s records, please send your request by email.

At this time, our NexGard supply is very limited. If you are needing NexGard, please call the clinic as soon as possible to reserve your dose before we sell out.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not have a veterinarian on site this week. We made every effort to remain open through the end of the month, but unfortunately, that is no longer possible.

We are actively working to contact all scheduled clients to cancel upcoming appointments and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please know this was not a decision made lightly—we have truly exhausted every option available to us.

Our office will remain open Monday through Thursday 9-3 this week for the purpose of providing medical records and refills on medication.

We cannot fully express how grateful we are for your trust and support over the years. It has been an honor to care for your pets, and many of you have become like family to us. This makes this decision all the more difficult.

We will have limited staff in office today if anyone needs to pick up records or medications. We will NOT have a doctor on sight today therefore we will not be seeing appointments.

Dear Valued Clients and Friends,

After 39 years of serving this community and caring for your beloved animals, we share some difficult news.

With very full hearts, we announce that Wise County Animal Hospital will be closing in one month. March 27th will be out last day.

This decision did not come easily. We have explored every possible option to continue operating, but despite our best efforts, we have been unable to find a veterinarian to work in the clinic. Without one, we simply cannot continue providing the level of care your pets deserve.

For nearly four decades, it has been an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with the health and well-being of your pets. Many of you have been with us for generations, and those relationships have meant more to us than words can express. Your loyalty, kindness, and support have shaped Wise County Animal Hospital into what it has been, and we are deeply grateful to each and every one of you.

We are also profoundly thankful to the Wise County community for supporting a local veterinary practice for so many years. It has truly been a labor of love.

Over the coming month, we will do everything we can to assist with medical records and transitions of care. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions during this time.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and the lives of your animals. It has been an incredible journey, and we will always cherish it.

We have 1 Licensed Veterinary Technician on our awesome team, Keshia Boggs LVT. Our team also includes; Debbie Gazda, who leads our kennel staff with her experienced pet care in our boarding facility, along with, Marlee Robinette, Jusin Newton, Haley Falin, Tre Mullins, Aletha Cole, Laurisa Phillips, and Marcus Tarrer. Krystal Chester is our groomer with more than 15 years experience. She takes pride in what she does, and makes sure every pet that leaves her grooming facility is in tip top shape.
