We’ve received an overwhelming amount of responses for Spay And Neuter service. We will be working through them over the weekend.

As this is pay what you can, we will be working those that can pay $50+ FIRST. We do not have a van for transport so you must drive to Bristol Humane Society for drop off and pick up.

We will text you with appointment details. All names will remain on record until we are able to help or unless you contact us [email protected]

In the meantime, Bristol Humane Society opens appointments the FIRST of every month. Appointments are open now (May 1st) for those needing to book with them.

Amazing news! FURsquad Animal Rescue has been awarded a $500 Spark Good local grant from our local Norton Walmart!

These funds will go directly toward spaying and neutering pets in Wise Co VA Animal Shelter and in our community, reducing unwanted litters and helping families in need.

Proud to spark good right here in Appalachia!

We are working to help Wise County Humane Society 501c3 Non Profit place cats from a recent situation. We urgently need a foster, possibly only until Saturday. All indoor cats. Can be split up if needed.

Unlike some viruses, FeLV doesn't survive long in the environment — it breaks down rapidly outside of a host. You won't carry it home on your jacket from a shelter visit. You won't spread it by petting an FeLV+ cat and then petting a neighbor's cat. The virus spreads through prolonged close contact between cats — shared grooming, bites, or nursing. Adopting an FeLV+ cat doesn't put your community's cats at risk. 💙

So we love Millie and her kittens, a whole lot. She goes to Lion & Lamb Vet Co. today for her PCR test, where we will find out more about her diagnosis of feLV.
Millie has been eating great and she is drinking like an elephant. She had a UTI when she came to us but is doing much better. I don’t really know what I’m hoping for other than hearing she is healthy. Just wanted to share with anyone keeping up with her.

Gorgeous Balto. He unfortunately won’t be making it back to us because the vet school found terminal cancer 🥺 we are grateful to have met and worked with Balto for the time he was at the shelter. Thank you to LMU vet school and thank you to everyone that shared and cared about Balto.

🤍 Millie update! 🤍

Millie will getting a PCR test this week from Lion & Lamb Vet Co. to rule out any false positives for feLV. We need to be SURE without a doubt she is positive for feline leukemia to ensure the best possible life for Millie. We will learn more about Millie’s diagnosis, when to spay her, and when to test the kittens from Dr. Lawson. Fingers crossed for good news! 🤞

Also we are head over heels for Millie. She is so sweet and affectionate. She loves to play with straw paper (out of all her toys 🤣). She has moved her kittens a couple of times but we have them settled for now (we think). Her personality truly matches her looks. She’s a doll and we love having her.

🤍 Luka update 🤍

He is getting along with other dogs in his foster home and doing great with potty training! He loves to play but is very manageable! Luka would be a great dog for a family, a couple, or a single person. A husky does require exercise so we recommend regular play dates and brain games or safe chews, like beef cheeks, while at home!

We are still waiting for Luka’s neuter date.. and thanks to you all it’s covered 🙌😭💘

We’re so excited to share that Balto and Gustine are at LMU Vet School getting neutered and spayed!! This means they both will be eligible for adoption OUTSIDE of Wise County.
