I am seeing a lot of posts recently about puppies biting and owners thinking they are aggressive. Please do your research on the breed and ask the breeder what to expect of owning a Pup. I am very clear with owners what they are getting themselves into and that it isnβt always easy and there will be points where you want to give up and dislike your pup, personally an unpopular opinion, owning a pup is the worse part of being a dog owner!
My first point would be crate train your pup, this is to help when the pup gets over stimulated and tired and also for their safety, or if they ever injure themselves later on in life they will be comfortable and happy to be put in a crate, feeding them in their crate is a good way of making a positive experience.
Secondly the pup does not need to be with you all the time, they are babies and need their sleep! An 30-1hr play time/ exploring is plenty in one go before they need to sleep. (This applies to 8-15 week old pups) increase as they get older. Include training in this, recall, sit and wait. Dont be hard on yourself or the pup if they donβt get it straight away but be persistent and consistent.
Yes a pup becomes nippy and bites when teething but more often than not itβs due to over stimulation. Using chews are a good way to help your pup, carrots are a good distraction. Beef paddy wak or tripe sticks are also good.
