On Consignment:
NOT SO TINY ELVIS
16.2hh, 11 year old, Draft Cross gelding (Percheron X Paint)
This beautiful, sweet natured gelding is everyone's dream. Elvis is everyone’s best friend, and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is very interested in people, and does not like to be left out of the fun. He is a playful boy and gets along well with everyone in his pasture – he’s usually the source of all the mischief and games of tag in his pen.
Elvis is sound with no maintenance needed…. unless you consider treats maintenance, as these are always in demand.
He has a current negative Coggins and is up to date on his vaccination and worming schedule. Elvis has no known health issues.
HIS SHINING ATTRIBUTES:
Elvis has great ground manners, and will stand tied all day. He is a gentlemen for saddling, is easy to bridle, and stands like a rock at the mounting block. He is not barn or buddy sour.
He stands well for the vet and farrier.
Elvis has been exposed to a great many disciplines. He has attended obstacle clinics, has been exposed to small jumps, attended dressage clinics, and attended local shows. He will cross tarps, logs, and bridges, and has done some gymkhana games and clinics.
Elvis can be ridden out alone or with the group and can be put in the front, middle, or back of a trail with no change in personality. Elvis lives near a County road and isn’t bothered with farm machinery, semi’s, or a stray bicyclist.
He is proficient in groundwork - lunges very well, is respectful, and quietly transitions through his gaits.
Elvis LOVES baths and will plays in any water source or puddle he can find. This comes in especially handy on trail, as Elvis is always the first one to splash his way through a water obstacle.
Elvis has been used for in a lesson program for riders of a variety of skill levels. He is responsive and moves off of leg and seat pressure. He will move through his gaits willingly and rides western or english. Elvis has the potential to be great in anything he does. He needs a rider who can hold him together in the canter, as he has a tendency to get strung out and discombobulated. Elvis could go any direction, sport horse, dressage, trail riding, lesson program, etc. He's such a willing boy!
Elvis is best suited for an intermediate rider and up—as he reflects his riders energy. Due to his size and power, we would not recommend him as a child / husband safe mount on trails or in large open spaces, though In our smaller arena he has done quite well with walk trot lessons for beginners.
Elvis was purchased by his owner 2 yrs ago, and though they are madly in love with him, they just do not have the time that they feel Elvis deserves, and do not want to see him lonely and bored in the pasture. This sweet boy deserves more consistent attention and love, and a person to call his own!
