Seems strange to not be throwing a toy into the lake for Bo after doing it for 10 days. Kimber will only play in the lake if another dog is so she hasn’t been in there since Bo left Monday either.

Did another drop in on Bootsie the cat and Diggity dog. Both were happy to get a little play time in.

Cali was back bright and early Monday morning and will go home today. She was super excited to be the only “other” dog here this time. She hasn’t had that for a while so she definitely soaked up all the attention she could get. Cali and Tucker got to run some errands with a friend and I. Tucker enjoyed all the smells of Tractor Supply and even left a little gift for them (I did clean it up, I would never make someone else do that).

Bo has been getting a ton of lake time in during his stay. I’m sure he still doesn’t think it’s enough lol. He goes home in the morning.

I accepted the challenge of trying to get Bella in the lake but the closest she would go was on the boat. She didn’t stay long this time but will be back a much longer stay in the fall.

On Cali’s last day here this week she made it further into the water. She wanted to play with the other 2 so badly she was trying any way she could to do it without touching the water. She climbed on the jet ski, she walked on a fallen tree and she paced the shoreline until she just couldn’t take it any more and had to go in. Her mom was very impressed.
Bo, in typical lab fashion, has not wanted to stop playing in the lake. When we do take a break in the house he whines by the door to go back out. When I let him out thinking he might have to potty he goes to the deck box where the toy duck is and stares at me. Boat rides are tough on him knowing he’s that close to the water and not able to be in it.
Bella arrived this evening. She hasn’t been here in what seems like forever but she had no problems getting reacquainted with me and the other dogs. She had no desire to help me play cribbage but did hang with me for reading time. I’m sure tomorrow will bring more lake time for Bo so Bella’s mom and dad would like to see if I can get Bella into the water.

Sweet little Bella went home today. I know her family was missing her terribly and she was super excited to see them as well. I always find it a little sad when dogs go home, especially after they have been here for so many days (Bella had an 11 day stay), but it also opens up some lap room for my own dogs 😃.
Cali is on day 2 of her 3 day stay. She wanted so badly to play in the water with Bo and Kimber but she’s still “testing out the water” and unsure about it. Bo doesn’t ever want to stop playing fetch in the lake so maybe tomorrow or next week when Cali is back she’ll be ready to go further in.
More pup cruises were had over the last couple days and it’s funny to see some of the other boats trying to figure out how many dogs are on our cruise.
Since it was a little cooler, no smoke in the air and less dusty from the little rain we had we finally got back in the UTV today. We left Tucker home as he isn’t a huge fan of riding and we left Bo home as I don’t have a harness for him.

Bella is still hanging out with us, enjoying lap time, boat rides and cribbage playing on the screen porch. Bo arrived Friday afternoon and has already had lots of lake time, swimming and boating, and also enjoyed some cribbage playing. He’ll get plenty more of all that during his stay.

Did a drop in visit on Diggity last night. He didn’t really have much interest in playing ball outside with me, which was surprising because he didn’t seem like the same dog I had met just a couple days ago. He did fetch a couple times but was mostly pouting that his parents didn’t take him with them. Diggity is a beautiful, sweet, fun boy and I can’t wait to visit with him again sometime.

Another couple days of just hanging in the house, this time due to wildfire smoke instead of heat. We did hang a bit on the screen porch but usually not for long. Cali went home Wednesday afternoon and will be back Monday morning. Just like my dogs she is meeting new friends almost every time she comes and she’s getting better at having to share attention. Molly got picked up yesterday late afternoon and I’m already missing that sweet little peanut. Tucker is happy to finally have some room on my lap this morning since it’s just Bella left until this evening when Bo arrives. Thankfully Bo isn’t a lap dog 😛.

The remainder of this month and August I will have very limited availability so please reach out ASAP for booking just in case I can’t it will give you time to make other arrangements.

Huge thank you to everyone that has been trusting me with their precious furbabies. I am loving loving on them. Thank you to those who have been helping get my name out there as well.

With the hot temps the last couple days the dogs and I have just been chilling in the house. Pretty sure Bella and Molly are completely content with that decision. Cali, being a California girl, might not mind the heat as much but she didn’t complain about lap time either.

Benny’s 3 day stay went better than I think his mom expected. I think people get nervous because I have 3 of my own dogs and their dogs are used to being by themselves soaking up the attention. To me, it’s just like having more than 1 child. There is plenty of love to go around and each dog gets what they need from me. I had a couple hours after Benny got picked up before Bella arrived. She too has adjusted well to sharing attention. Bootsie was a happy cat to get some play time with me yesterday when I dropped in on her. Cali arrived last night for a 4 day stay this time. She loves getting playtime, especially with Kimber. Molly came today as a first timer and she is an absolute sweetheart. Thankfully all the dogs I have today are small enough to each have plenty of space on my lap. I worked in some time this weekend to give my Tucker a much needed haircut. I am no professional but he’s not a show dog so I don’t get too worried about how it looks.

I am grateful that Cali's mom sought recommendations and was referred to me. I thoroughly enjoy her weekly stays, which have taken on a regularity reminiscent of a shared custody arrangement. Yesterday, I dropped by to visit Bootsie, and she was clearly pleased to see me and receive some attention. Benny began his first stay yesterday, initially displaying caution as he stood near the door, looking out. I took care to offer him extensive reassurance, letting him know he is safe and well cared for, and it wasn't long before he felt at ease and settled in nicely. He seemed to take great pleasure in the lake cruise last night.
