🤎🐴Our horses give us so much every single ride. They carry us through our victories, our struggles, our lessons, and our growth without asking for much in return. As riders, it’s our responsibility to make sure these prey animals are cared for physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Good horsemanship isn’t just about what happens in the saddle—it’s about the time spent grooming, checking tack, monitoring their health, providing proper nutrition, providing body work especially when we expect them to be working horses or even compete and that goes to show how/IF we as riders/care takers are listening to our partners! Especially with Summer turning up the heat, we need to make sure we’re keeping a close eye on our horses as to when they need a break!
Every ride is built on a partnership, and that partnership thrives when we put our horse’s well-being first. They choose to take care of us each time we swing a leg over their backs. The least we can do is take care of them every day in return. 🤎🐴
