ALL DOUBLE COATED BREEDS needing a
DE-SHED TREATMENT such as German shepherd's, Siberian huskies, Border collie's, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians, and other dogs with similar type of coat
+ $10-$15 (depending on current condition of the coat)
Double-coated breeds have a unique coat structure that serves as a form of insulation, helping to keep them cool during hotter months and warm during colder months. However, regular maintenance is crucial to prevent the coat from getting packed, which can cause overheating as well as other skin issues.
De-shedding treatment is essential for these breeds, as it:
1. *Reduces shedding*: Removes loose undercoat, reducing the amount of shedding and preventing hair from getting everywhere.
2. *Prevents matting*: Regular de-shedding helps prevent mats and tangles from forming, which can be painful for the dog and lead to skin issues.
3. *Improves skin health*: De-shedding treatment helps distribute natural oils, promoting healthy skin and coat.
4. *Prevents overheating*: Excessive undercoat can cause double-coated breeds to overheat, especially during warmer months. De-shedding treatment helps remove this excess coat, keeping them cooler and more comfortable.
5. *Enhances coat health*: Regular de-shedding promotes healthy coat growth, reduces shedding, and prevents skin issues.
The de-shedding treatment typically involves the use of a special tool, used before, during, and after the bath, to remove the dead undercoat. The frequency and extent of the treatment depend on the condition of the coat. By incorporating regular de-shedding treatment into their grooming routine, double-coated breeds can enjoy better skin health, reduced shedding, and improved overall comfort.
