What a weekend! First off Artemisia I’m Here For The Party (GCH.Spring Fever Rock Paper Scissors/ Artemisia Sweeter Than Honey @Hykrest) is now a new AKC Champion! Just ten months old, I am on cloud nine of course. Thank you Team Limelite! I will say it again, you are the best! And thank you to all the judges who recognized this little girl from the 9-12 month class giving her BOW every time. Including an USASA specialty 5pt. Win! Shown 15 times, class winner 14 of those, BOW 4 times, RWB. 4 times, all major shows. Got to luv this girl. Now on to ASCA Ch. and some performance degrees.

Back in Iowa, Confetti’s Brother Cam picked up two more majors, this past weekend, now sitting at 13 points, all majors!

Her other brother Merlin didn’t make it to the Fresno show, but he is raking up RWDS and will finish soon too I predict. But, Confetti’s uncle, Artemisia Golden Night Sir Rucker (GCh. Goldcrest Cruisin For A Bruizin/GCh.Ashfalls Bella Di Notte) did attend and went WD Saturday and Sunday for two more majors. So far three majors, just a few more points to go!

Then the littles, 11 weeks old, Millie/King (Spring Fever Crowning Achievement/GCH Ashfalls Bella Di Notte) went to a Utah ASCA show. All three at the top of their class and received, one BOBP and two BOSP in the three shows.

All the pups from my last two litters are placed. We now have Artemisia pups in seven different states, looking forward to what these pups can accomplish. A big Thank you to the breeder of these sires. Sherrie Scott and tribe from Spring Fever for all your help in finding the most awesome homes for them, whether pet or show!

Artemisia I’m Here For The Party was RWB yesterday at the Arizona circuit, then today at the USASA Sepcialty went BOW for her second 5 point major. This pup is only 10 months old. She is by Spring Fever Rock Paper Scissors and Artemisia Sweeter Than Honey @Hykrest. Her Brother Merlin took RWD, and uncle Rucker was pulled for WD too. A good day for Artemisia.

Three more days and we will make decisions on which one of these fluff balls stays here and who is available!

A weekend to remember for the Artemisia Aussies youngsters. Ashley Wersinger pups went to an ASCA show Saturday. Curie, Beaumont/Millie went reserve to a major second show then WB/BOS and BOS over Specials for a 5 point major at the third show. And Cam,Jasper/Bumbles went WD/BOW for a 5 point major also at the second show.

Confetti, Jasper/ Bumblebee was not to be outdone. She was up in Washington at an AKC show with our favorite handler AJ Taveres.
Confetti went WB//BOW for a 5 point major too! Cam and Confetti are not even 10 months old yet.

These three handsome boys out of our Tyce x Padme litter (co-bred with Mallory Eckstut of Atriplex Herders) are available to the right homes! They are 9 weeks old and have had a general vet health check and eye certification, structural evaluation by Spring Fever's Sherrie Scott, are microchipped with pre-paid registration, come with pre-paid AKC registration, and are eligible for ASCA registration.

This litter has been raised with Puppy Culture and AviDog protocols, and they have been exposed to kids and various other dogs, cats, small animals, and livestock (goats, sheep, pigs, and ducks), and herding instinct tested on ducks. These pups are also litter box trained and actively working on housebreaking!

All three are very sweet, social, active, and motivated boys with a nice off switch. Preference will be given to proven performance or herding homes (with priority given to homes with prior Aussie experience). Danny Boy is a bit lower drive and would also thrive in an active pet home, but Avery and Flint are better suited to homes where they would have a job (even if just as weekend warriors).

If you are interested in learning more about these pups, please send a message to Mallory Eckstut on Facebook or email her at [email protected] (more pictures and videos are available upon request). You can also apply for one of these boys at: https://www.gooddog.com/breeders/atriplex-herders-nevada.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
I just noticed Kings (daddy to puppies in first meal video) never posted. So here he is.

And my final post of the day, I promise! We have puppies. Lots of boy puppies, lol! Repeat breeding to Jasper and Bumblebee, that gave us Cam, Valkyrie, Merlin and Confetti. And a breeding to this beautiful boy King and mommy Millie. They got their first meal from a bowl today. Just formula, goats milk and yogurt. Took a bit for them to figure out this new way of eating. But all four boys cleaned the bowl spotless.

My other favorite video of the year. This is Curie as a puppy with her new friend, just a few days after flying back east. Ashley’s daughters laughter is contagious, love it!

12/25/2021

A couple other videos… lure coursing in Oregon. Rigby, my daughter dog from Millie/Beaumont. And Confetti from Jasper/Bumblebee. Both first time trying it.

Continuing with my so far behind posts!
The last two litters are doing wonderful in the show ring. In conformation all the puppies have received at least a RWD and some already have their first points. Plus many are having fun in fast cat, lure coursing, and obedience, barn hunt, to name a few venues.
Artemisia Aussies was well represented at our National show back east thanks to Ashley Wersinger, who has a pup from each litter. Curie from The Who’s you daddy litter, who already has major points placed in three out of four shows. Cam from the Birthday litter placed in every show and picked up a Reserve Winners Dog also.
Merlin and my Confetti, our west coast pups from the birthday litter both have their Puppy of Achievement awards from AKC. Both have picked up Reserve winners awards along the way.
Here are a few pictures of the gang from this last year. I have a few videos I have collected, will get them up also. I’m so proud of all the pups! Thank you so much to Spring Fever Aussies for letting me breed to your awesome boys!
And to all the owners, super job guys,

Merry Christmas everyone! Been so long since I have posted updates. I am terrible about keeping up with Facebook! Mallory still has a couple pups left from her litter. And I have two small litters that we hope will be show/performance pups. But here are a few photo updates from from my last two litters
First is a 1 year family reunion of the four Boys that live in Oregon.I was unable to attend, but my daughter took photos. So proud of these boys all getting along, some hadn’t seen each other since leaving at 8 weeks. Looks like they had a blast!

On November 6, we welcomed 10 beautiful puppies (7 males, 3 females) out of Tyce (AKC BIS, BISS, GCHG/ASCA CH HOF Spring Fevers Wanna Dance ROM-1, ROMX-1) and Padme (IntCH Artemisia’s Bella e Gentile ACT1, CGCA, TKI, BCAT, BN, RN, JS-N-OP, GS-N, CL-F/S, PKD-T)!

These beautiful babies are showing some lovely temperaments and great herding instinct already! Most are reserved but we do have a few males still available that would be well suited for performance or as active family companions.

This is a repeat litter, and the first set of pups are training in agility, rally, obedience, flyball, and conformation in addition to being wonderful family companions. Both parents are social, stable, and easy to live with. Puppies are raised with Puppy Culture and AviDog protocols, and exposed to various people, dogs, cats, livestock, and environments. Pups will be ready to go home January 5, 2022.

If it sounds like one of these babies may be a good fit for your family, please feel free to shoot us a Facebook message or email Mallory Eckstut ([email protected]). Please note that puppies are placed at 8 weeks upon evaluations and we do not guarantee color; we take preferences into account as much as possible but prioritize suitability of temperament and structure for each home. We also maintain a private Facebook group with regular video and picture updates so future families can follow the development of the puppies.

Have not been on Facebook in ages, so here is a update for the last year!
The Who’s your daddy litter is starting to hit the show ring, shows are finally opening up after being canceled because of Covid.Mendel picked up a RWD at Utah ASCA. Shea was awarded a RWB at an AKC show in Victorville. And the same weekend at her first ASCA show, Curie won WB and BOS over specials for a five point major. So the future is bright for these three pups

Crick (after molecular biologist Francis Crick, co-author of the paper that proposed the double helix structure of DNA!) was the sleepiest of them all for his photo shoot! He was as sweet as the pictures make him look.

Sagan! (Red boy)

Sagan (after Carl Sagan, renowned astronomer and science communicator!) was probably the most fun to photograph! He was feisty and did NOT want to stay still - I am genuinely surprised that we got any non-blurry shots of this guy!

Wallace (after Alfred Russell Wallace, the father of biogeography!) is another sweet boy who just wanted to nap through his photo shoot! This boy nursed in just a few seconds after birth - he clearly likes his food, just like his mommy.

Dobzhansky! (Kelly Green boy)

Dobzhansky ("Dobby"; after Theodosius Dobzhansky, a prominent geneticist/evolutionary biologist in the 1900s!) was the smallest boy at birth and is definitely unique looking! Is he a tri? Is he a (cryptic/minimal) merle? I can't wait to see the results of his genetic testing.

Ada! (Purple girl)

Ada (after mathematician Ada Lovelace, who is considered the first computer programmer!) has a half collar and a full set of lungs - she popped out of the birth canal screaming her little head off! (However, I didn't hear much screaming during her photo shoot - she was a perfect angel.

Rosalind (or "Roz"; named after Rosalind Franklin, whose work was central to the discovery of the DNA double helix!) was the second born girl but the first puppy to really stay still while we took pictures - she just wanted to nap on the nice warm towel!

Nettie! (Pink girl)

The theme names for this litter have been up in the air, but we finally settled on famous scientists – after all, this litter was pretty experimental and their genetic testing is already starting!

Nettie (after famous geneticist Nettie Stevens, who discovered s*x chromosomes) is our “Mini Millie”, with striking resemblance in patterning to her momma. She is the smallest of the litter, but don’t let that fool you – she’s a tough, active little girl, and did her best to try to make sure we couldn't get a clear shot of her!

We have an exciting announcement. Milana (Millie) has had her final litter! Born September 21st, she had 9 puppies, all black tri’s. The litter theme is Who’s Your Daddy? She was bred to three different boys at Spring Fever Aussies! Possible sires are Beaumont, Tyce, or Rye. DNA results in a couple weeks will tell us who is the proud daddy/daddies. (The colored marker spots are to identify each puppy). Pictures were taken at two days old.

We are looking for some show/ performance homes for these pups.
Will continue to post weekly pictures as they grow.

We couldn't be more proud of how our two keepers from the Sailor x Millie litter have turned out!

In addition to making two cuts into the top 18 dogs at the 2019 ASCA Nationals, Finn (ASCA CH Artemisia's Captain Finn) won Winners Dog/Best of Winners and took home an incredible 4-point major at the 2020 AKC Beverly Hills Dog Show over a huge line up of beautiful dogs and bi***es. He is currently just 3 single points from his AKC championship! In his off time, he has perfected his companion skills, and regularly hikes, camps, kayaks, and hangs out with his girl and her horses!

Padme (IntCH Artemisia's Bella e Gentile AKC CGCA TKN BCAT, ASCA RN BN JS-N-OP GS-N, CPE CL1-F/S) has turned into a phenomenal performance dog. Even at the 2019 ASCA National and pre-trials, despite only being casually trained by a novice handler, she took home many placements (including a 1st and several 2nd places!) in large 20" novice classes! When she's not training for various performance events, Padme has a blast hiking and swimming with her pack, and being the best puppy nanny!

Have not shared much of our happenings here, but lots of wonderful events have happened in the month of June with our Aussies. And we got mail!

Millie’s official Grand Champion Certificate came in the mail. I can’t believe how fast she achieved this, all owner handler! Thank you Kristy and Taylor for handling her to her title.

We also received Breccon’s BCAT certificate in the mail. This is a timed 100 yard dash for those of you not familiar with Fastcat. It’s official, he is currently rated the fastest Conformation Champion Aussie in the nation.

June 2019 is also special because my old girl Shelbie turned 14 years old. She is the daughter of my first two Aussies, Toby and Ashley. She has a few rally and agility titles and until we retired her was the dog I could give a five year old to teach dog training and handling.

In new events, we just came back from an UKC show up in Utah. Breccon took BOB and a group 3 herding the first day. This completed his Championship in UKC. Then on the Sunday he won breed again and went on to Best In Show! Finally got a picture of Taylor really smiling after this win! Breccon is now an AKC, ASCA,UKC, and INT. Champion.

Breccon also became a first time daddy this Month. Amelia had 7 puppies, 5 black tri boys, I blue merle boy, and 1 blue merle girl. Yep, a lot of boys!

And last but not least, the Chewy people really out did themselves with a surprise package in the mail. All my Aussies, including three puppies from the last litter are in this montage of paintings they sent me. So cute, the artist really captured the goofy expressions the kids can have. Can’t wait to get them up on the wall at the shop. Thank you so much Chewy!
