Firstly, we want to say how grateful we are to the vets in this community. We would not be able to do what we do without their help!
I took this rescued sweet guy, Peter, to the vet yesterday and he is in great health, except for two teeth that are infected and possibly broken that need to be taken out. Teeth cleanings and removal are quite spendy, thankfully The Ranch Veterinary Clinic is willing to do this for us at a discounted rate 💜💜
✨✨We are hoping our wonderful community will help us out so we can pay for this procedure for sweet Peter without adding to our rescue’s fees, we have been able to pay for food, vaccines, and other necessary wellness for him and many, many other kitties.
We take cash, check, or even calling the Ranch directly and paying on our account! We can also work our Venmo or Zelle. Please comment or message us if you are able to donate. Every penny helps. His appointment is scheduled for next week and then he will be up for adoption 🙌

You can still do Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in colder weather, just take extra precautions to keep cats safe!

Hello, we are asking for monetary donations to help with these sweethearts that both need an eye removed. The procedure is not cheap nor are the meds they are on to help with the infection. We do have a volunteer with Zelle and Venmo if you’d prefer to donate that way, we can also arrange picking up cash or checks. Otherwise please call Desert Trails Veterinary Services or The Ranch Veterinary Clinic to donate directly to our account under “Kitty Cat Catchers” or “Desert Cats TNR”. Thank you 🐱💕

Hello all! Kitty Cat Catchers (Desert Cats TNR) is in need of financial donations to help with medication cost and vet bills. We are hoping to get our vet bill at the Ranch paid off, if you feel so inclined to call and pay them directly you can do so at 775.387.1243 and ask to put money on our account. We just acquired our 501c3 status and will be having fundraisers soon, as kitten season winds down. We also accept cash and check donations, and can have a volunteer meet with you for these. Any donations we get helps us to continue to help the cat population, and in turn the human population of Winnemucca! Here’s a little guy we saved tonight at Rolberto’s, who will lovingly be named Rolberto.

ATTENTION WINNEMUCCA!! Big changes are coming for the Kitty Cat Catchers!!

1. Our name has changed!! We have officially changed our name to Desert Cats TNR. We will update our social media profiles and accounts at the local vet offices to reflect our name change in the coming weeks.
2. We are now officially a nonprofit organization!! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the umbrella of Advocates for Victims of Abuse and have partnered up with them! We are able to receive donations made directly to Desert Cats TNR.
3. Not really a change, but we are still doing VERY limited intake as we are still FULL!

In regard to donations, we are kindly asking for help paying off current vet bills to continue our life saving work! The work we do to help the cats of Humboldt County is very important, but understandably not cheap. We have accounts at each of the 4 vet offices in Winnemucca, but right now The Ranch Vet Clinic is our main focus. If you feel inclined to donate, you can call any of the vet offices and ask to make a donation to the Kitty Cat Catchers account, whose name will soon change to Desert Cats TNR. Thank you very much for your support!

Before posting, commenting, asking for help, etc. REMEMBER:
-We are not a full-fledged rescue. We do not have an actual address/physical location or a phone number. We are primarily a Trap, Spay/Neuter RETURN (TNR) group.
-We are very busy and may not be able to assist with your issue immediately. Please be patient and ask yourself how you might be able to help fix the issue without us intervening.
-Be prepared to help. We often cannot come help solve the problem/issue without assistance as we typically have access to the same resources as you. You will be asked if you can aid in the cost of care and treatment, as well as physical actions once we can address your needs.
-We are EXTREMELY limited with what we can do, due to extremely limited funding. We occasionally fundraise, and that is all we have. Aside from the TNR vouchers that the city/county graciously provides, we do not receive any steady funding.
-We are VOLUNTEERS. We do not get paid to do what we do. We still have jobs, families, pets, and lives of our own so we do what we can when we can.

PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT!! One of the Kitty Cat Catchers’ live traps was stolen from us while we were using it last night!! 😡 I was trapping at Walmart last night from 6-9 pm and was watching the trap from my car nearby the whole time, but there was a blind spot where the trap was set up. The trap was being checked every 30-40 minutes and the trap was stolen between 8:15 and 8:55 pm. A police report was filed and Walmart employees/management was checked with and I was told that the security cameras do not cover that area of the parking lot. I just pray that there was not a cat in the trap or that the person let the cat out first if there was. 😓 This is what the trap looks like, please keep an eye out and message me if you see anything odd or find it discarded somewhere! Whoever did this also stole 2 nice metal bowls that were graciously provided by a local cat caregiver.

ATTENTION: The Kitty Cat Catchers will now be doing managed/limited intake, as we are FULL!! Kitten season is in full swing and our fosters are all occupied!! We will help where/when we can, but our resources are VERY limited. We can still be contacted, but true emergency cases in which a cat’s life is in danger will be prioritized. All other inquiries (TNR, need for fosters, etc.) will be addressed on a case by case basis as we have time to address them. Yes, we will still be doing TNR and adoptions, we’re just slowing down our intake of cats/kittens as we are overloaded!

On another note, our founder is stepping down, so our group will be going through some reorganizing and a potential name change. However, the amount of work we do to help the cats of Winnemucca and Humboldt County will not change! We will still be up and running, just going through some reorganization! 🐱❤️
