📣 IMPORTANT EHV-1/EHM UPDATE FOR OUR CLIENTS TRAVELING TO LAS VEGAS & ARIZONA 📣
We know many of you are gearing up for the World Series Team Roping in Las Vegas, as well as events in Arizona, and we want to keep you fully informed as the current EHV outbreak continues to evolve across several states.
👉 Out of an abundance of caution, we will be implementing enhanced biosecurity protocols at the clinic:
🔹 Please leave horses in the trailer upon arrival.
🔹 Our veterinary team will take temperatures before unloading.
Thank you for your patience as we work to keep every horse safe.
🚨 IMPORTANT TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ)
Based on the most current guidance from multiple state veterinary officials:
1️⃣ Global Vet Link Extended Equine CVIs (6-month health certificates) are VOID nationwide.
These cannot be used for travel at this time.
2️⃣ NEW EQUINE ENTRY PERMIT REQUIREMENT FOR HORSES INTO NEVADA 11/19/2025
Horse owners should take extra precautions against animal disease during event season.
3️⃣As of 11/19/2025 Nevada's entry requirements for equine are being modified ahead of event season to reduce the risk of disease transmission. New requirements include:
💥Entry permits are required for horses until Jan. 1, 2026.
💥Certificate of Veterinary Inspection stating: "No animals presented on this CVI have been on a premise with a confirmed case of EHV-1 within the last 21 days.
NEW ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR STATES WITH VSV DIAGNOSIS 11/03/2025
As of 11/03/2025 - State with diagnosed VSV is AZ - updates will be provided as needed
💥Currently, ALL horses, cattle, swine, sheep and goats from a state where Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV) has been diagnosed, or visiting an infected state and then returning to Nevada, except those moving directly to slaughter, must be accompanied by a CVI that includes the statement:
" I have examined all the animals identified on this certificate within seven (7) days of shipment date and have found them to be free from signs of Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV). During the last fourteen (14) days, these animals have not exposed to VSV nor located on a VSV confirmed or a VSV suspected premises."
🚩 WHAT TO DO IF YOUR HORSE MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED

🧼 BEST PRACTICES FOR PREVENTION
Good biosecurity is ALWAYS your best defense:
• Record temps before hauling & twice daily while traveling
• Clean stalls/buckets with soap + water, then disinfect using a 1:10 bleach solution
• Avoid shared water troughs, hoses, or tie rails
• Do NOT touch other horses and minimize others touching yours
• Do NOT share tack, grooming gear, or cleaning tools
