Its seems like the messages are all the same.
"A dumped cat had kittens in yard/barn and they are sick and I can't keep them."
How can I express to our communities that rescues are not the answer to our cat overpopulation situation?
Yes, we volunteer to be caregivers, fosters, shelters for these cats BUT we cannot sustain this.
Rescues do not get discounted veterinarian care.
We spend untold amounts of time caring for kittens like these. Up late cleaning kennels, washing bowls, disinfecting areas, administering medications, bathing kittens, socializing timid cats, and so much more. This is a full-time job.
Please don't misunderstand. We choose to do this because it's necessary.
But I secretly hope that more people will see the need to help and accept the responsibility to care for/their cats.
Spay/neuter. Provide veterinary care. Just do something instead of doing nothing. 💔
It's too soon to know if a couple of these kittens will have their vision or lose their eyes.
I have a lot of faith in antibiotics, nourishing food, and a warm bed.
Let's all encourage one another to be brave and do more for our cats. ❤️
Now please go out there and save ONE cat.🙏
