Save Our Streams (SOS) is a fun way to test water quality by collecting and identifying underwater insects, called macroinvertebrates. The Izaak Walton League is working with the Ottumwa Chapter to provide a workshop for those who want to become a certified SOS Monitor.
Visit www.iwla.org/sos for more info about Save Our Streams.

Dress for the weather, as we will be doing the field component in rain or shine in the afternoon. Bring your own rubber boots, waders, or old sneakers if you have them (we ask that you avoid using felt soled waders). The Ottumwa Chapter is generously providing lunch. All classroom materials and ID books needed will be provided.

The Izaak Walton League’s Save Our Streams (SOS) program helps people just like you check water quality in local creeks and streams. Share your findings so we can get a clear picture of water quality across the country – the first step in crafting water quality solutions that work.

Let's all join together and make Colby Park beautiful again! Residents and friends of Windsor Heights please volunteer to help clean-up Colby Park. Join your community at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 7th, at Colby Park. We appreciate any length of time you are able to donate! We will hold a brief meeting and provide volunteers with assignments in the park, bike trail, and dog park. The community center will be open as a cooling center throughout the clean-up, with water provided. We ask the volunteers to bring rakes, shovels, work gloves and any other yard equipment that might be used for park clean up. Please wear appropriate clothing for the heat and closed toed shoes.
