There is something so sweet about watching the dog family all accept the new pups and Mom accept all the extra attention. It takes a village to raise kids and the dog family to help raise the pups. These dogs gentle nature always makes me fall more in love with them!!!

There is something so special about the relationship between a Mom and her babies. I will never get tired of it. I get so much joy sitting outside with them. Soaking up the sunshine in the winter is just magical!!!!

Sometimes something that you think of as routine becomes special. We bring each litter of puppies up to the Fetch Lab in Cincinnati for Baer testing. Not because there are issues but to insure issues don’t pop up.
What made this time special was Kynlee. She is the youngest Madding and had taken a big interest in helping with this litter of pups. As a reward she got to take off school and go to the Baer testing with “her” pups.
It was so fun to watch her learn all about what goes on. Everyone was great with her and she helped out with the thunder shirts and let the pups know she was right there by holding one of their paws during the testing.
All pups passed their testing and have been going to their new families now.

Our annual WY Sage Grouse FSK Get together is in the books!! So fun to meet up with our FSK Setters and their families!! Each year we get a rotation of people and dogs. Some just come for an evening or two, others come for a week. It’s a fun rotation and we look forward to seeing everyone and their FSK Setters.
It’s a week filled with comradery, hunting, feasting and lots and lots of stories and memories. Sitting around the campfire and looking around I am always so grateful for the people that these dogs have brought together and into our lives.
In all the years we have been coming out here we have never had rain – but this year made up for it. Rocco’s uncle came with his big RV – too big to take down to our campsite so he parked it up on the ridge, looking down on us – and opened it up for our dinner a couple of nights. Thank you for the hospitality and such a comfortable place to enjoy the rainstorms.

When we headed west towards WY we had two ten week old pups to deliver. It was great to meet the new owners when they came to pick up the babies at camp and welcome them to our FSK Family!
There were training pigeons so we were able to work some of the younger dogs on them.
