Falcon Hill Farm Full service Hunter/Jumper/Dressage Equestrian facility located just 30 miles south of Birmingham, AL. We offer lessons, training, shows, and sales.

Falcon Hill Farm is owned and run by the McCown family. We focus on Hunter/Jumper and Dressage training, traveling to both local and AA rated events. We always have a selection of horses for sale or lease. Feel free to message for more information.

Foundation slay today! 💁🏼‍♀️

Grace Owens and Demitasse were reserve champions in Pre Children’s, won the modified under saddle, and were 2nd in their eq over fences! ❤️

Scarlet and FHF Pippapotamus won all their Hunter over fences for double champions in schooling and regular pony! 👏🏻

Everly and Peyton put in solid rounds in starting Hunter and short stirrup and continue to show much improvement each show! 🥰

A little featuring just a few of our hard working “littles”. Seeing these girls progress in their riding over the years has been so rewarding! No riding journey is without hiccups but these kids take everything in stride and make the most of their lessons!

We have a stall opening in our show barn for anyone interested in joining our team! We also will have summer lesson availability! Keep an eye out for our camp and show schedule coming soon! 👏🏻

Super late post from in March!!

Scarlet and FHF Pippapotamus were Champion in the Medium Greens and qualified for Pony Finals!

Grace and Farnley Spellbinder moved up the Large Greens and put in some awesome rounds! This pair had come so far! I’m so proud of their progress. Emma showed Dublin in the large regulars and did a lovely job piloting him around!

Rosie stepped into the ring for the first time as an Adult Amateur on Van D’Ark and won Reserve Champion and second in the combined Child/Adult Classic!

Emma and Cartier put in very nice rounds in the Low Children’s Hunters as well!

This morning we laid to rest one of our beloved lesson horses. Zoom was recently retired, as his conformation couldn’t keep up with his desire to work. Zoom was a wonderful teacher for many of our students! As we lay him to rest, I’m thankful for the confidence he gave so many of our riders. He would test us on the ground and always let you know he was getting fed first. He never missed the opportunity to let you know the gate or stall door wasn’t latched either. 😂🪽

Just two kiddos born and raised at Falcon Hill Farm who crushed a BIG goal this weekend!

Let’s back track a bit…

In 2014, a pregnant Avery Rhodes wandered up to my farm looking for lessons for her oldest daughter.

A few months later in 2014, we welcomed a beautiful buckskin filly by our Wharley Magic Flute and out of Foxmor Blueprint. I begged her not to turn grey every day for a year. With her given name of FHF Pippapotumus, we knew she was destined to be great (and fat)! 😂

A few more months later, future pony rider, Scarlet Akins was born!

At 4 years old, the Akins Family purchased Pippa to bring along for Scarlet! With lots of work from big sister Willa Rose Akins and some natural grit on Scarlet’s part, Pippa and Scarlet worked their way up from walk trot to short stirrup to children’s pony.

This weekend we made their official move up to the USEF Medium Green Pony Hunters and earned RESERVE CHAMPION honors! ❤️👏🏻🎉


Thank you Grace Humber for all the help getting Pippa ready for this weekend! Grace and Pippa were Reserve Champion in the USHJA 2’3 Hunters after just doing 2/5 classes!

Thank you to the Akins family again for pouring so much into your girls and trusting the process of bringing along a young pony and pony rider! ❤️
