Broiler Update 10/14/24 AM: at LEAST 23,000+ birds left
These birds still need to get out, NOW. Birds are about 6lbs each and ready to butcher. Some have been off of feed for a few days now. $1/bird at the sites, more if you are paying for transport from individuals. You can comment on transport routes or birds you can take here.

Greg Marten’s Barn: W284 County Road HH Mondovi, 15,000+, 9 am - dark
N47656 CTH-Y, Eleva WI, open during daylight. 7,000, daylight hours
W21462 Holcomb Coulee Road, Galesville, WI 54630 -- Have not heard anything as far as times open or birds remaining.
Some tips for getting birds:
-You do not need to contact the farmers or myself before going. Just show up within the times. At least one of these sites will still have birds, especially if you are going in the Mondovi direction. Even if you are driving from far away. They will have birds.
-These are meat birds. They are ready to butcher. They will not lay many (if any) eggs or make good pets. The ethics of broilers or industrial poultry is not up for debate here, the goal is just to get these birds out here and now.
-Bring masks and headlights - it is very dusty in the barns, and the farmers dim the lights to keep the birds calm.
-If you are feeding them, wet the feed so they can eat it easier as most have been without feed for a while.
-PLEASE be respectful of the farmers, birds, and equipment. This is their livelihood. These birds are still alive.
-I have classes and work today, so I will not be able to update routes or reply to comments/messages often. Please help each other out and answer questions in the comments and keep the comments on track. I'll post a list of people that are traveling around noon.
-THANK YOU to everyone who has helped to get the word out, shared these posts, and gone to get birds. You are making a difference and are so, so greatly appreciated!!
