The Equinoxes divide the Solstices. They are arbitrary. The actual change in seasons is the day of equal light to nite (Equilux). For most North American latitudes, that day is September 25 or 26. So it is the day after the Equilux that actually begins the new season. In the northern hemisphere, that season is Autumn.

Yesterday was a productive day at the barn. Friends visited and we utilized the opportunity to provide two of my horses, Torch and Reba, with much-needed riding time from more experienced riders, offering mental stimulation beyond their usual beginner-level training. This break from routine lessons proved beneficial, and our livestock guardian Hymdhal also received some loving attention.
