Yesterday we brought in our final weanlings for this year’s Freshman class. It was a good rainy evening for a road trip, deep conversation, and new beginnings for these young horses. They are both draft crosses that will be integrated into our service mounts program.

We are so grateful to Mitchel Lamb for bringing us an amazing load of alfalfa hay, these bales are 70 pounds each and we had an excellent crew of students help unload them in three areas.

We love the teamwork!

Now we will review horse weights, pounds per a growing horse, and collaborate with our academic classes to see how much these horses have grown.

The first day of Equine Visit weekend was a remarkable experience. We featured integrating academic and extracurricular aspects of the Asbury Equine Center. Professors shared their specialized expertise in training, perisitology, equine assisted services, and equine science. Current students presented their horses, and prospective students participated in the distinctive fusion of God, people, and horses all in one amazing place.
