We are thrilled to launch our second annual equine student leadership week.

Harold Rainwater graciously hosted a breakfast and devotional, emphasizing that "Transforming people is at the heart of God's plan for the world. 'Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord' (Heb. 12:14)."

Throughout the day, our student leaders have collaborated to prepare the farm for the new academic year, undertaking tasks such as saddle cleaning, veterinary room sanitization, and team building.

This group of students is not just preparing the physicall needs of the farm but they are setting the tone for the Christ centered community that Asbury Equine seeks to foster.

We look forward to the upcoming school year with great enthusiasm.

The Asbury Equine Center is deeply grateful to Hager Construction for their remarkable work on constructing a new road. Hager Construction is demonstrating exceptional expertise in paving the way for a new road. The Bayless arena, dedicated October 27, 2022, is located roughly six tenths of a mile from the existing paved driveway and was previously accessible solely by a gravel road. The new paved road will significantly enhance accessibility for students, faculty, and staff to the new arena.

Today the vaulting horses got to enjoy some chiropractic from Dr. Torres. He does an amazing job caring for them. The vaulting team is also practicing canter vaulting on Shaquille.

There are many projects to complete before school starts in a little over a week! There are so many blessings in each of these tasks.

Proverbs 16:3 states, "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."

👩‍✈️Service Mount Spotlight👨‍✈️

Meet Pharaoh, one of the 'P' class horses in our Service Mounts program. Today, Pharaoh stands just shy of 16.2 hands and he is truly beginning to blossom! He stood at 14.3 hands just last fall. Watching Pharaoh transform through patience, training, and trust has been such a blessing, and he continues to grow every day. His trainers have done a fantastic job preparing him for his future as a police mount. Pharaoh will graduate from our program in May of 2026 and make an excellent addition to any mounted police department! A unique aspect of our program is the opportunity for the weanlings and students to grow together.

Psalm 92:12-13
“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree. Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”

Please help us welcome Sunny to our equine program! We have him in training from the Louisville Mounted Police Department. We are incredibly thankful for the partnership and the friendship that we have forged with Louisville.

Sunny arrived to the farm this morning, and he has been settling in wonderfully. We are looking forward to working with him and witnessing the positive impact he will make here at Asbury.

We will be calling him Mako after the shark, because we already have a home raised foal named Sonny.

Proverbs 19:21 'Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.'

Asbury services mounts program begins with a young horse and a Freshman student, together the horse helps the student learn to train, and the student trains the horse to be in service. Patton, a 2022 Percheron thoroughbred cross, was trained by Emma Heiman. He was picked out as a yearling by Sargent Brandon Savage, for the Louisville police department.

Savage has been patiently anticipating the day that Patton can become his partner. Yesterday, Savage got to ride Patton for the first time under the instruction of Emma.

We are so proud of their hard work! Patton will be purchased in September by the Louisville police department. We look forward to great things from this partnership. It is a blessing to share and help facilitate this experience with them.

We are so proud of each of our students and we love watching their progress and success both on and off of our farm!
