Hi, we’re Mary & Honey, young Holland Lop sisters with lots of sweetness and sass.

We came to Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue after our family received military orders to move across the country and could not take us with them. We were loved from the time we were babies, and now we’re ready for our next chapter.

We are spayed, microchipped, and ready for adoption. We are not fully litter box trained just yet. Now that we are spayed, we think that with the right setup, consistency, and a little patience, we will continue making great progress in no time.

FOUND DOMESTIC RABBIT — WILMINGTON, NC

Earlier this evening, a caring woman was helping her mom tend the garden when this little angel hopped out of an azalea bush. She immediately knew he needed help and worked hard to safely catch him. We are so grateful she did, especially because a cat appeared from the same area shortly after.

Domestic rabbits are not wild rabbits and are not equipped to survive outdoors on their own. They depend on people for safety, shelter, and care.

Location found: Intersection of White Rd and Gordon Rd, Wilmington, NC
Date captured: June 17, 2026
Description: Intact male. Small or possibly young. Breed unknown. Mostly white with tan/orange markings. Upright ears.

This rabbit is currently safe indoors with Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue while we follow the county’s found-animal process and work to locate a possible owner.

It has been one month since we said goodbye to our sweet Possum.

When we first began planning our upcoming fundraiser with , it was meant to be Pints for Possum — an evening to raise funds for the surgery and care we hoped would give him the second chance he deserved.

Instead, we now hope this event can be a way to honor his life, celebrate the love this community showed him, and raise a glass in his memory.

Please join us for Hoppy Hour at Mad Mole Brewing on Tuesday, June 30 from 5–8 PM. Mad Mole will donate $1 from every pint sold to support Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue and the rabbits who continue to need us.

🐰 Adoptable Rabbit: Meet Maui!

I’m an adventurous 1.5-year-old bunny with soft gray fur, a white belly, bright eyes, and a tiny tuft of fur on top of my head that gives me a little extra charm.

I came to Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue after my family’s new apartment would not allow rabbits. I was very loved, and saying goodbye was hard, but I did not do anything wrong. I just needed a safe place to land while I waited for my next chapter.

Now I have been neutered, microchipped, and I am officially ready for adoption! I am also litter box trained and have no known behavior concerns. I have been described as a very good boy, and honestly, I think that is pretty accurate.

Right now, I am staying with the sweetest foster family. They have two young children under five who are so gentle with me. They read me stories and sing me lullabies at night, and I love being part of those quiet, loving moments.

I enjoy safe indoor space where I can stretch, explore, hop around, and be part of the family. I may be a quiet boy, but I have so much love to give. I will listen to your stories, brighten your days with my curious little hops, and remind you to slow down and enjoy the soft moments.

Remember the little guy we rescued on Memorial Day? 🐰

It has officially been more than 10 days with no owner coming forward. Sadly, that is usually the case when we come across abandoned domestic bunnies — though we are grateful to say we have had two recent cases where owners did come forward.

Nonetheless, this sweet boy is now officially in our care. That means he’ll receive vet care, neuter, and everything he needs before finding his forever family.

In the meantime, he is thriving in a full, loving foster home with a young child, a dog, and a cat — a sweet reminder that families with children and other pets can make wonderful foster homes.

His foster family has affectionately been calling him Radar, and it suits him perfectly. He is very social, curious, affectionate, and will try to climb into his little boy’s lap. 🥹

We are so thankful to the kind neighbors who noticed him, fed him, searched for an owner, and worked so hard to get him to safety.

Meet Biscuit, a sweet white Lionhead rabbit who is urgently looking for a loving new home.

Biscuit’s family loves them very much, but due to a difficult family situation, they need to find a safe placement as soon as possible. Biscuit is currently staying with a family member, but the family will be leaving July 1 for a medical transplant, so they are hoping to find a home before then.

Biscuit’s s*x and spay/neuter status are unknown, so a future adopter should be prepared to schedule a wellness exam with a rabbit-savvy vet. For families looking for a more affordable option, we encourage looking into spay/neuter transport trips as a helpful resource.

Come meet us at Hoppy Hour and learn how you can get involved with Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue!

We are always looking for compassionate people to help as fosters, volunteers, event helpers, transporters, donors, and advocates. Because we are a foster-based rescue, every new foster home helps us say “yes” to more rabbits in need.

Join us at on Tuesday, June 30, from 5–8 PM for a fun fundraiser supporting local rescue rabbits. Mad Mole will donate $1 from every pint sold, and will be on-site with their popular gourmet hot dogs and classic “dirty water” style dogs.

A local animal lover has created The Pawsitive Influence Contest, giving away $1,500 in prizes to support local animal rescues!

Entering is simple and only takes about 15 minutes:

Write a short essay, 300 words or less, about a fictional animal from a book, movie, or TV show that helped inspire compassion, empathy, growth, laughter, hope, or a deeper love for nonhuman life.

Your favorite fictional animal could be from Charlotte’s Web, Black Beauty, Lassie, Benji, or any story that left a pawprint on your heart. 🐰🐴🐶🐷

Update: Luka has been safely rehomed!

Luka is a neutered male senior rabbit, about 8–9 years old, looking for a calm indoor home due to his family’s upcoming international relocation.

He is white with black spots, enjoys being near people, loves strawberries, and does best with gentle, respectful handling. Luka is not a bunny who enjoys being picked up often, and he may nip if approached too quickly, so he would do best with a patient adopter who understands rabbit body language.

Luka needs placement by mid-June.

Because of this tight deadline, we are also looking for a temporary foster home while we help coordinate safe placement. If you are interested in fostering Luka, please send us a message
