COURTESY POST: Bun Bun is looking for a loving home πŸ°πŸ–€πŸ€

Meet Bun Bun, a sweet 3-year-old male Holland Lop who is looking for a new home due to his owner’s severe allergies.

Bun Bun is black and white, very gentle, and described by his owner as β€œa very good boy.” He is sweet, easy to love, and does not bite.

Bun Bun is not currently neutered, so his future family should be prepared to coordinate his neuter and continue helping him settle into a safe indoor routine. For affordable neuter options, we recommend checking out Happy Hoppsies NC neuter transport trips.

This is a courtesy post, and Bun Bun is not currently in the care of Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue. We are helping his owner spread the word so he can find a safe, loving home.

If you are interested in Bun Bun, please message us and we can help connect you with his owner.

Please share to help this handsome boy find his forever home.

A little update on our recent intakes πŸ’›

You may remember our post about BunBun and Lucy, the bonded pair whose mom was preparing to deploy overseas and needed a safe place for them to go. Thankfully, she was able to find a trusted family friend to take them in, which was such a wonderful outcome for those two girls.

But because so many of you shared their story, several incredible people stepped up and applied to foster, which allowed us to say yes to other rabbits who urgently needed help.

That support allowed us to take in Honey and Mary, two young sister bunnies from a military family relocating to California, and Maui, a sweet 1.5-year-old boy whose owner could no longer keep him due to life circumstances outside of her control.

We try to make fostering as easy as possible by providing the supplies, training, and support you need. Fostering is a wonderful way to see if a rabbit might be the right fit for your family. And if adoption is not the right fit, you have still played a life-changing role by helping that rabbit stay safe while they wait for their forever home.

If you have ever considered fostering, please reach out or apply here: https://www.carolinarabbits.org/foster

πŸŽ‰ Adoption Update! πŸŽ‰

We’re thrilled to share that Moose and George have both been adopted and are settling into their forever homes, already being showered with love by their incredible new families.

That makes Valentine our only adoptable bunny while we coordinate vet care for our recent intakes.

🐰🍻 Hop on over for Hoppy Hour! 🍻🐰

We are so excited to team up with Mad Mole Brewing for Hoppy Hour, a fundraiser supporting Coastal Carolina Rabbit Rescue.

Join us on Tuesday, June 30 from 5–8 PM at Mad Mole Brewing for an evening of good hops, great dogs, and a sweet cause. Mad Mole Brewing will be donating $1 from every pint sold to help support the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of domestic rabbits in our community.

will also be on-site serving their popular gourmet hot dogs and classic β€œdirty water” style dogs β€” because good hops deserve good dogs.

Come enjoy a pint, grab a dog, meet an adoptable bunny, learn more about our rescue, and find out how you can get involved as a foster, volunteer, donor, or adopter.

Raise a pint, grab a dog, and support the buns! 🐰🍻🌭

Our hearts are broken to share that Possum has passed away.

After being admitted into urgent care this morning, the team at Paws & Claws determined that Possum was likely septic from an abscess that had ruptured internally. Because his condition was so grave and he was suffering, we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.

We are devastated. While we did not get the outcome we so desperately hoped for, we are grateful that Possum did not die alone, abandoned, or forgotten. He left this world surrounded by love.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, prayed, and cared about this special boy. Your kindness gave Possum comfort, care, and dignity in his final days.

Please Pray for Possum

Possum was admitted into urgent care first thing this morning after taking a serious turn over the weekend.

He had been doing so well and was getting ready for his scheduled abscess removal surgery this Friday when part of the abscess bubbled up and ruptured on its own. He was started on another round of antibiotics while we tried to keep him stable and comfortable ahead of surgery.

Unfortunately, Possum declined very quickly overnight.
Thankfully, he is now in the best of hands. We are asking for all the prayers, love, and well wishes you can send for Possum and for the team at caring for him.

This sweet boy has clearly been through so much, yet his fosters say he has had so much spirit β€” social, curious, and eager to be part of daily life. He deserves some extra love during this difficult time.

Your donated pens, rugs, litter boxes, bowls, toys, blankets, carriers, and other rabbit-care essentials are already making a real difference.

Because of these generous donations, we were able to fully supply a brand-new foster family and help George settle into a safe, comfortable indoor foster space.

We are so grateful for every person who has donated, shared, supported, and helped us build this rescue one piece at a time.
