9/1/26 Update: Niko has been adopted!

COURTESY POST: Niko needs a home 🐰💕
Located at Guilford County Animal Services

Sweet Niko is currently waiting at Guilford County Animal Services after being surrendered when her 18-year-old owner left for college and was no longer able to care for her.

Shelter staff say Niko has been an absolute sweetheart! She is playful, curious, and loves exploring and finding things to play with. She also enjoys being petted and is always happy to accept a treat or two. 🥬✨

Rabbits do not always do well in busy shelter environments, so we would love to help get Niko seen by someone who can give her the safe, loving indoor home she deserves.

If you are interested in adopting or rescuing Niko, please contact Guilford County Animal Services:

Sometimes you don’t need to adopt a bunny to help a bunny. 🐰🩷

A few days ago, we received a kind email from a mom who described herself as being “at the end of her rope.” Her 2½-year-old daughter would not stop asking if she could hold a bunny. 🐇😂

Mom was refreshingly honest that their family is not looking for a forever pet right now. They’re busy, they understand how much commitment rabbits require, and they didn’t want to bring home an animal they couldn’t responsibly care for.

So instead…we arranged a special bunny meet & greet! 💕

In exchange for a donation to the rescue, the family came to spend some time loving on our Ogden Trio, who were absolute little angels with their tiny visitors. The kids got their bunny fix, the rabbits got plenty of attention, and we received a generous donation plus litter pellets for our foster bunnies! 🥹🐰

We also love that this gave us a chance to teach little ones how to gently interact with rabbits. Most rabbits actually prefer keeping all four paws on the ground rather than being picked up, so sitting with them, petting them, feeding them treats, and letting the rabbits choose to come say hello is often the very best kind of bunny snuggle. 💗

And a little update on the stars of the show: two members of the Ogden Trio are currently recovering from their neuters, made possible by the transport trips coordinated by !

✨ The Ogden Trio is currently looking for a foster home where they can stay together until the youngest is old enough for their spay/neuter surgery. They are sweet, social, incredibly patient little rabbits and clearly have experience winning over an audience.

🐰💙 ADOPTED: MAUI 💙🐰

Maui has officially found his forever home! 🏡✨

Maui was adopted by a wonderful rabbit lover with more than 36 years of experience caring for house rabbits. After recently losing her beloved rabbit, she was ready to open her heart and home again. We couldn’t imagine a more loving place for Maui to land.

Seeing him already settling into his new home, comfortable, loved, and completely spoiled is the kind of moment that makes everything worth it. The intakes, vet appointments, cleaning, feeding, fostering, emails, late nights, and all of the little things that go into rescue lead to moments like this.

There is truly nothing more rewarding than watching a rabbit who came into our care begin the next chapter of their life with a family who absolutely adores them.

Congratulations, sweet Maui! We are so happy for you! 🐇💕

🐰🍻 Meet the buns of Hoppy Hour! 🍻🐰

They’re cute. They’re adoptable. And their vet bills are anything but tiny. 🐰

Our adoptable rabbits are hopping over to Mad Mole Brewing for Hoppy Hour on Tuesday, June 30 from 5–8 PM, and they would love to meet you!

Come say hello, learn more about their stories, and find out how you can help rabbits like them by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating. Mad Mole Brewing will donate $1 from every pint sold. By simply coming out and enjoying a pint, you’ll be helping us provide the care these bunnies need while they wait for loving homes.

🐰 Update on the Ogden Bunnies

Our little Ogden trio is safe, sweet, and already stealing hearts. So far, we know that two are boys, and the baby is still too little for us to say for sure. We may never know exactly how these three ended up loose in an Ogden neighborhood. Did they escape from someone’s backyard? Were they intentionally left outside to fend for themselves? Were there more babies out there who didn’t survive?

Since everyone is unaltered, and the baby is still growing, we are keeping them separated when they are not supervised. But this little family truly loves being together. They seek each other out, snuggle, groom one another, and seem happiest when they are together.

We are desperately searching for a foster home willing to take all three while we coordinate their vet care and spay/neuter surgeries. CCRR will provide supplies and guidance. We just need someone who can offer a safe indoor space, daily care, and lots of love. Apply to foster here: carolinarabbits.org/foster

Please share to help the Ogden trio find a safe place to land.

🐰 Three Little Buns, One Big Rescue

Last Wednesday, we received a call about a domestic rabbit who had suddenly hopped out of an azalea bush in an Ogden neighborhood. Thanks to the kind people who noticed he needed help, he was safely caught and brought to us.

A few days later, we received another call from the same neighborhood about two more nearly identical rabbits — including one tiny baby. Today, all three were safely reunited.

These sweet bunnies are so gentle, loving, and affectionate. They were not meant to survive outside. We are so grateful to the wonderful folks who stepped in to save them.

Now we urgently need foster homes while we sort out their vet care and spay/neuter surgeries. We provide all the supplies to get you started, along with guidance and support. Please head to carolinarabbits.org/foster
