Time: 4:30 PM until dusk
Location: Amelia, OH – Lindale-Mt. Holly Region (within a 3-mile radius)
Mission: Search for two missing, beloved dogs

WHO WE ARE
This operation is being conducted by FidoTracker, the animal welfare division of AFRS.US, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating in Ohio.

All pilots are FAA-certified remote pilots.

AFRS aircraft are fully registered with the FAA.

Our team includes licensed first responders.

All operations are fully compliant with Federal and State laws.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Privacy & Technology Use

Our team does not look into windows or invade privacy.

Near residences, we primarily operate in thermal imaging mode.

Thermal Imaging Limitations

Despite myths, thermal cameras do not see through windows, walls, or roofs.

We use black-and-white heat imaging to detect mammals (like missing pets), not to observe people or property.

Altitude & Airspace Safety

All drone operations are conducted below 400 feet, per FAA regulations.

Do not interfere with or attempt to shoot at drones.

Drones operate in FAA-regulated public airspace.

Damaging or disabling a drone is a federal and state crime.

Penalties can include up to 20 years in prison and $20,000 in civil damages, equivalent to shooting at a med-flight helicopter or aircraft.

Firefighter drone pilots will be assisting FidoTracker in the area of Sabina Ohio today. - Assisting a family with animal welfare.

Our aircraft look different - They are bigger, louder, and have white flashing lights on belly of top of aircraft.

Pilots and aircraft are licensed by the FAA.

It is a violation of state and federal laws to harm unmanned aircraft or the pilots.

One of our public safety drones of AFRS.US being operated by a firefighter was struck by a bullet in the community of Newtonsville Ohio earlier this evening while assisting the community.

A report was filled with the Clermont County Sheriff's office and additional reports must be filled with the FAA tonight.

PLEASE REMEMBER - Public safety drones are considered aircraft by the FAA. The federal and state penalties are the same as shooting at any other aircraft.

AREA
Our flight path was in the area of Eckman Ln, Pin Oak St., Cedarville Rd., and W. Main when the incident occurred. - Our drones have about 15 cameras onboard and we will be reviewing the content this evening. Time of the incident was between 5:55PM and 7:10PM on 04/07/2025.

URGENT SCAM ALERT!!!!

We received notice yesterday from a dog owner our of state that there are scammers using our tradename and our logo!

Some things to help you avoid the scam:
1 - They are using social media to post in lost dog groups with our name.

2 - They are communicating via messenger or private message. We only use our recorded phone number at 937-661-DOGS for initial conversations with customers.

3 - Our official website is www.FidoTracker.org NOT .com, .net, or other suffixes.

4 - WE DO NOT USE OVERSEAS CALL CENTERS! ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE IN THE US. If someone has a foreign sound - That is not us.

5 - Emails from our organization will come from fidotracker.org and if you review the technical source of the email it will trace back to google commercial servers.

6 - All of our inbound calls to 937-661-DOGS are recorded just like a dispatch center. You will hear beeps about every 15 to 30 seconds during the call. If you are interacting with someone and don't hear the beeps - It is not us.

If you want to validate if it's us your interacting with - PLEASE phone us at 937-661-DOGS

If you see anyone impersonating us on social media - Please let us know ASAP as our name and logos are trademarked.

AFRS.US / FidoTracker.org drone pilots will be searching for a missing dog in the areas surrounding Clough Pike near Sportys Airport.

Search area could span several miles.

Our drones are larger than most, gray in color, with white flashing lights top/bottom and red green navigation lights. Our pilot will be a regional firefighter using nonprofit equipment and will be in a black sedan.

This is a courtesy post to help reduce drone fear, highlight drones4good, and improve community communication.
