Lucy’s dressing came off today. Looking good! Her biopsy’s and labs came back as well.
NO CANCER
NO INFECTION
Everything looks perfect. This was just exactly as they suspected. A spontaneous pneumothorax rupture of the lung bulla. My girl is doing really well and getting her energy back.
We have to keep it chill for another 5 weeks. I’m beyond thankful to have her here still and healing so well. 🙏🏼🐕‍🦺💜🐾@

Mommy is SO grateful to have this baby home and snuggled up again.

She did great through the night. 🙏🏼She’s moving around more, which means the drugs are wearing off.
Next dose is at 10am. Going to try to get her outside to potty before breakfast and 💊 .

Lucy has eaten dinner and is resting well. She’s had two visitors already. Aunt Lorri and Rusty. Still can’t get her to go potty in this cone, but we will get there. Mommy is just so grateful that my baby is okay and home.
6 weeks of recovery and absolutely NO activity. Thank you all for your prayers and love. We will keep you updated. For now, we’re going to cuddle and get our rest. 🙏🏼🐕‍🦺💜🐾💪🏼

Good Morning our Lucy-Doo prayer warriors and friends.
Lucy is with Dr. Guevara now having her chest tube removed. 🙏🏼🙌🏼 They need to see if she can maintain her oxygen level properly and stay at 0 on her own through the first half of the day.
They will call me when she’s out of the procedure. Requesting prayers for my little girl to keep fighting and her body working properly so she can come home later today.

I will update everyone as soon as I can. Lucy and I love and appreciate you all, more than words. 🙏🏼🐕‍🦺💜🐾

Words can not convey the gratitude I have for all the Veterinarians, Dr. Guevara- surgeon who saved my babies life, the Vet Technicians and support staff at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center. For all your love, prayers and support from our Lucy Doo family and friends. As most of you know, Lucy is my best friend and my world. This has been very scary and traumatic.

They have taken her back to ICU to suction her chest tube, give her her pain meds and get her back on fluids so she can rest and hopefully come home to Mommy tomorrow. Dr. Guevara said if she continues on this upward trend he will remove her chest tube in the morning and hopefully send her home by tomorrow afternoon. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I am so thankful to be able to hold her this morning and kiss all over her precious face and noggin. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us, but my girl is strong like her Mama. We will get through this together. We love you and I will keep you all updated as to her progress and condition. Keep your paws together and continue praying for total healing and health.
