Nola is 11 years old and just got back from a long walk on the beach.

Two years ago, her family noticed something off in the way she moved. A diagnosis confirmed a genetic condition affecting both of her back legs. Our team guided them through two separate corrective surgeries, one for each leg, and supported the family through each recovery.
Today she fetches at the school yard down the street. Her family says she is as happy and playful as she was at two.

Wilmington Neighborhood Alert!

Veterinarians in the Wilmington area have reported a cluster of parvovirus cases in dogs. The cases seem to be associated with a park between W 4th St. and W 5th St.

Parvovirus is an infection transmitted to dogs by the ingestion of f***s from other infected dogs. It causes vomiting and diarrhea, which can be bloody, dehydration, listlessness, and poor appetite. It is especially dangerous in puppies and can be fatal if left untreated.

The good news is that this illness is preventable with vaccines. The parvovirus vaccine is considered a core vaccine for all puppies and adult dogs. Speak to your veterinarian about vaccinating your pet. Dogs and puppies that are not fully vaccinated should not be allowed to visit public places.

Max is a one-year-old goldendoodle who loves long walks, tug-of-war, and greeting everyone he meets. To his family, he seemed perfectly healthy. During his first visit, at 8 weeks old, our team recommended bloodwork to establish a baseline. His results showed mildly elevated liver enzymes. Because it was caught early, our team was able to follow up with additional testing and set up a monitoring plan to support his liver health. Sometimes health changes happen quietly. Routine bloodwork can help detect potential concerns before symptoms appear, giving pets the best chance for early care.
