My name wasn't always Atticus...
In early May of 2014, All They Need is Love Animal Rescue saved me and my sisters and brothers. I was placed with a wonderful foster mom, Amanda, and given the name Aspen. Later in the month, I began having seizures and I ended up fighting for my life at an emergency veterinary hospital. The cause of my seizures is unknown so when I was ready to leave the hospital

the vet said it was best for me to not be returned to my litter. I was only 3.5 pounds but my strength and determination weighed a gazilliondy pounds. So, my momma took care of me and nursed me back to health. I had a sister her name is Scout and she’s an Angel now. My momma thought Atticus Finch was the next best name. And on August 10th, 2014 I was officially adopted and from that day on I was to be called Atticus a.k.a. I have a cousin Sven, he's a cat...he wears bow ties and one day he gave me a bow tie, it even matched one of his. And, that's when my momma discovered how handsome I look in a bow tie. And the rest of the story...well, that's how I got my "Atti"tude!

Ralphie rescue Pet Tales is a non-profit rescue organization serving the greater West Michigan area, dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats left homeless for whatever reason – dogs/cats in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

Bellini’s rescue Livingston County Animal Shelters mission is to build a better community for the pets and people through compassion, protection, education, and collaboration. The Livingston County Animal Shelter provides humane care to protect the health, safety, and welfare of animals and people in Livingston County by enforcing state laws that pertain to domestic animals.

Sergeant Stubby was a stray dog, likely a mix of Boston Terrier and Pit Bull, who became the most decorated war dog of World War I, serving with the 102nd Infantry Regiment and participating in 17 battles on the Western Front. He earned his sergeant rank for his heroic actions, which included detecting mustard gas attacks, locating wounded soldiers, and even capturing a German spy. After the war, he became a national hero, met three presidents, and is now a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
