Summer’s fast approaching and people are starting to travel more frequently with their pets!
Here are some tips to aid in the safety of our furry family members!
1. Make sure your dogs and cats have a collar with an ID tag that has a current phone number.
2. Unless your dog has solid recall, keep them leashed in non fenced in areas. Some dogs might get scared or nervous when in new environments with new smells, sights, sounds, etc and try to flee.
3. For those traveling with cats; keep them on a harness and leash (if trained to do so) or keep them in a carrier when outside away from home.
4. Have your animals chipped if they don’t already have one and keep the owner information up to date. This way, in the event of your dog or cat running off, a vet clinic or shelter can scan the microchip and get the owners phone number.
At Trillium Veterinary Services we offer microchipping and have an ID tag engraver, leashes and collars (now in new colors and patterns!) available for purchase 🐶🐱
