Two Years Ago Xena was fighting for her life. Tylenol toxicity badly damaged her kidneys. We watched with fear. The veterinarians said to euthanize - she would only live a few months. YOU donated and prayed! A good friend said “let the universe decide” - Linda Lu

And just like a 12-year-old pr***en boy who never listens.. we continued on, kept plugging away and decided we would save Xena’s life no matter what.

As you can imagine, forming a bond like that, trusting the human who holds you in their arms is what this is about! Xena never left her foster. Because as it turned out she was home!

She is loved. She is safe. AND above all she is healthy! Against all odds, science even - Our girl, strong and steady!

We owe it to YOU! Our backbone, our support, our heart and soul. You Who supported us and you who believed. And of course our incredible people: Julie, Elaine, Erin and the specialists at VCA PetCare Veterinary Hospital. And everyone in between!

Behind the scenes! Mendo Shelter Pets Rescue works-full-steam-ahead-all-systems GO 24/7.

While our focus is primarily providing resources, doing what we can-when we can, we don’t always have tons of dogs/cats in our care. This is because our mission is really about filling gaps- and let’s face it, long haul Foster’s aren’t always just hanging around.

When we get a super-duper-fantastic family who wants to adopt we always SHARE the love and help support our animal shelters any way we can! UKIAH SHELTER IS FULL! When we chatted with this super cool family we knew they were perfect- and going to provide one happy pooch a deluxe-life-complete with a countryside view! Spoiled and happy!

Mona struck gold! From unwanted mama with pups to this to a new name & family! Welcome to the good life Poppy! Happy tails!

Stare into her eyes, you can see her soul. Izzy is special. Izzy is the most loyal, dedicated pup you’ll meet. She’s easy to love, but is looking for a human who can match her.

She’s easy, is happy alone during the day, is neat and tidy (no couch eating here), loves the car….

We love Izzy so much! We just desperately ask the universe to send us her human NoW!
