Proper Pups LLC Mandy is a local Vermont dog trainer who also offers boarding Mandy has always had a passion and love for dogs.

Now she wishes to share her knowledge with others to create the proper bond between human and dog. Mandy utilizes techniques focused on pressure and release. She focuses on the goals that you want to achieve and what works best for your lifestyle, so you and your dog can live a more free and fun lifestyle. She became motivated to learn more about dogs when she realized her own dogs were not living

a balanced life. Mandy has completed Tyler Muto's conversational leash work seminar. She has also completed a hands on working shadow program with Ted Efthymiadis of Unleashed Potential in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. Mandy is also a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. Mandy offers one on one training and also weekend boarding and adventure days.

We’ve had a TON of interest in our Puppy Day Camp, and we’re so excited about it 🐾

This program is designed to raise confident, well behaved dogs from the start before any unwanted habits even have a chance to form. We focus on giving puppies amazing, positive experiences early on, so they grow up comfortable being away from home, around new people, and in new environments.

Your puppy will be safely socialized with well mannered, balanced dogs no bullying allowed. They’ll also learn to stay calm around real-life distractions (yes… even chickens right along the fence 🐔).

We work on:
• Handling & confidence building
• Social skills & appropriate play
• Ignoring distractions
• Name recognition
• And so much more

What Puppy Day Camp includes:

8 weeks of training & instruction
(Choose 1 day per week — Tuesdays or Thursdays available)

Drop-off: 7:00–8:00 AM
Pick-up: 4:00–5:00 PM

4-week option also available
(Puppy attends twice per week)

Our goal is simple:
To help you raise a confident, social, easy-to-live-with best friend you can truly enjoy for years to come.

It is officially the kick off of summer camping season. With it being a holiday weekend it is highly likely that fireworks will be going off. Although we don't know if any large displays. The local fireworks store for home use was BUSY when we drove by today.

Please keep pets secure, collars on, and don’t leave dogs outside unattended. Even confident dogs can panic when fireworks start.

Mushrooms in dogs can be such an amazing natural support when used correctly 🍄🐾

We use a variety here depending on the dog and what they need extra support with. Mushrooms can help support immune health, brain function, energy levels, inflammation, allergies, stress, and even overall wellness as dogs age. Some are great for active dogs, some for seniors, and some just help keep the body balanced naturally.

A few favorites around here:
🍄 Lion’s Mane – supports brain health, focus, and nervous system function
🍄 Chaga – packed with antioxidants and immune support
🍄 Turkey Tail – huge immune support favorite
🍄 Reishi – calming and helps support stress response

Just like anything else, quality matters BIG time. Not all mushroom products are created equal and dosing should always make sense for the individual dog.

No these aren’t “magic cure alls” and no I’m not replacing veterinary care but I do love incorporating natural supports into our crew’s routine when appropriate. Dogs bring so many benefits to humans comfort, confidence, stress relief, emotional support, and of course lots of smiles and laughter. Watching the connection between kids and dogs is always something special. We are so grateful for opportunities like this to share the joy dogs can bring into people’s lives 🐾

Today is National Rescue Dog Day ❤️

A little reminder that rescue looks different for everyone. Some dogs come from shelters, some from neglect situations, some are owner surrenders, and some just needed someone willing to give them a chance. Rescue isn’t always easy, cute, or perfect… but it’s always worth it.

At Proper Pups we get to watch scared dogs learn confidence, shy dogs make friends, and once unwanted dogs become somebody’s whole world. That’s the really cool part about rescue.

If you’ve adopted, fostered, donated, volunteered, transported, or even just shared a rescue dog post before… thank you. It truly takes a village.

Flynn was adopted 12 years ago. She struggled with reactivity with dogs, cats , and people. Flynn will never love everyone but she loves her furry siblings and many humans now!
