Bart's first Stay & Play day was a huge success! 🐾💙

Safe to say this handsome guy had a GREAT time with us yesterday!

Our Stay & Play program isn't just about puppy playtime (although there was plenty of that, too!). We also work on important life skills that help puppies grow into confident, well-mannered adults.

On Bart's first day, we worked on:

-Socialization with other dogs
-Mock veterinary appointments (Many dogs grow up to dislike having their ears examined, feet touched, or even stepping onto the scale! We help make those experiences positive from the start.)
-Kennel manners (Like sitting politely before the kennel door is opened!)
-Building confidence around new people, environments, sounds, and busy surroundings

And let us tell you... Bart was an absolute STAR during his mock exam! He was incredibly patient on the table and handled all of the new experiences like a champ.

Between making new friends, exploring, cooling off in the puppy pool, and practicing important life skills, Bart packed a lot of learning and fun into his first Stay & Play day.

We can't wait to see him again for his next Stay & Play adventure! 💙🐾

Last year, Leo weighed 20.4 pounds, and his family had noticed he was struggling to groom himself properly and becoming less mobile. We discussed how excess weight can affect cats in many ways, including comfort, mobility, joint health, and even diabetes risk.

The biggest change they made?
They stopped free-feeding.

Instead of leaving food out all day, Leo was switched to scheduled meals with measured portions — and this year he weighed in at 16.6 pounds! ❤️

His family has already noticed positive changes at home, especially with his grooming habits and overall comfort. While Leo is still showing some arthritis and mobility-related changes as he gets older, reducing the extra weight will help decrease additional stress on his joints. We’ve also discussed joint supplements to support him long-term.

Another benefit of scheduled feeding? It’s often much easier for owners to notice changes in appetite when meals are routine.

Sometimes one simple change can make a huge difference in a cat’s quality of life 🐾

Peanut butter: the true MVP of nail trims 🥜🐾

Archie and Levon stopped by for nail trims and did an awesome job with the help of some calming pre-visit medications, peanut butter distractions, and lots of patience and encouragement from our team 💕

For some pets, small changes like treats, positive reinforcement, and anti-anxiety medications can make veterinary visits much less stressful and help create a more positive experience over time.

Safe to say these two were pretty happy with their payment for their spa day ✨

Stay & Play visits help puppies build positive experiences at the veterinary hospital through treats, cuddles, playtime, and lots of encouragement from our team. Helping puppies learn that the vet isn’t scary at a young age can make a huge difference for future visits!

Safe to say Gia had a pretty great time with us!
