Posie gave birth to LulaBell February 18th so she hasn’t been very happy with Louie being introduced to the herd. Having a new little baby makes her a little protective. I’ve been trying to let them get to know each other little by little. Tonight we made great progress. She isn’t pushing him away and even gave him nose kisses.

Meet Louie. He is 2 months old and our newest goat. Spending extra time in the barn with this guy until he adjusts to his new home.

Green grass and spring rain is coming!
Yesterday was a productive day getting geared up for spring. We make homemade herbal goat wormer to maintain the goats health.
They love it and eat it right up. Spring rain and fresh grass makes the need for goat wormer a must. LulaBell is still too young for our herbal dosage cookies but soon she will get a treat too.

First honey harvest. New beekeepers. I sped the video up to shorten it. It looks like I’m working much quicker with the bees than I did.

It’s World Bee Day! We are just getting started with bees and love it! The practice of beekeeping dates back at least 4,500 years.

We are busy making goat milk soap. If your favorites have been out of stock they will be available soon. Plus we are working on new creations.
First we start with measuring out our oils, lye and milk. The oils are gently heated. The lye is then added to frozen goat milk. We mix until all the lye had been incorporated into the milk which leaves the milk completely melted. Next we add the lye-milk mixture to the warm oils. We then pour the soap into molds. 24 hours later we cut the soap into bars and cure six weeks on drying racks. The final step is cutting fabric and hand wrapping the soap. Then it’s ready for you!
