🚨🚨 FOUND DOG — SECOND STREET, WILLIAMSPORT! PLEASE SHARE! 🚨🚨

DO YOU KNOW WHERE THIS OLD MAN BELONGS?! 🥺🐾

A very elderly bulldog mix was found wandering on Second Street in Williamsport tonight.

He is wearing a vest/harness that says “GIBBY” — so we’re hoping that may be his name and someone recognizes him!

We are especially concerned because this poor guy appears to be VERY old and is having some difficulties:

🐾 Possible vision problems
🐾 Off balance/unsteady
🐾 Weak in his back legs
🐾 Having trouble walking

The finder spent about an hour out looking for his owner, but unfortunately no one was found. They cannot keep him, and there was absolutely NO WAY we were going to let an elderly, weak dog like this be put back outside to wander.

So… Gibby is now on his way to me. ❤️

We will keep him safe tonight and scan him for a microchip as soon as he arrives.

Someone has to be missing this old man. With his age and mobility issues, we are hoping he didn’t make it very far from home.

🐾💻 OUR WEBSITE IS FINALLY UPDATED! 💻🐾

I finally had a chance to sit down and update our website with some of the cats and kittens currently available for adoption through Heidi’s Furry Friends Rescue Inc.! ❤️

There are still quite a few adoptable cats and kittens who haven’t made it onto the website yet, keeping up with rescue AND keeping a website updated is definitely a full-time job of its own. 😅

Non profits beware!

Some days, you just shake your head in disbelief at how far someone will go to scam others.

Today, we received what appeared to be a very real $4,000 check in a Priority Mail envelope. A man using the name David Buchanan had emailed us several times and seemed very excited for us to receive a generous donation from him and his wife.

The check is fraudulent.

Here is how the scam works: They send a counterfeit check and then contact you, claiming they accidentally sent more than they intended. They ask you to deposit it and mail back a check for the difference. Eventually, the original check is discovered to be fraudulent, but the money you sent them is very real—and it is gone.

Apparently, this is an ongoing scam using the same name and company information, and nonprofits across the country are being targeted. If you know anyone who operates a nonprofit, please warn them.

What a loser. Just imagine if people like this used their time, effort, and creativity to do something good in the world instead of trying to steal from organizations that are working to help others.

💔 Unfortunately, the news isn’t what we were hoping for.

Earlier today, we shared the wonderful news that the kitty with the re**al prolapse on Second Street had finally been caught by the feeder after so many people had been trying to help him.

We were so relieved.

We hoped that getting him to RoseBird Veterinary Center would finally give him the chance he desperately needed.

Unfortunately, once he was examined, we learned that the damage was simply too severe. 💔

His condition had progressed to the point where treatment would have been extremely difficult, and even if he survived everything his little body would have needed to endure, his prognosis was very poor.

He was also extremely feral, which would have made the extensive treatment, recovery, and ongoing care he would have needed incredibly difficult and stressful for him.

After discussing everything and considering his quality of life, we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.

Sometimes rescue isn’t getting the ending we desperately wanted.

Sometimes rescue is simply making sure an animal doesn’t have to hurt anymore.

And today, that was what we could give him.

I know so many people were rooting for this kitty. So many people shared his post, watched for him, tried to trap him, worried about him, and prayed that someone would finally be able to catch him.

Please know that all of those efforts were NOT for nothing.

Because he was caught, he didn’t have to go back onto the streets in that condition.

He didn’t have to continue living with that pain.

He didn’t have to deteriorate somewhere alone where no one could reach him.

Instead, his suffering ended peacefully and humanely.

To the feeder who was finally able to catch him, and to every single person who tried to help him — thank you. ❤️

We wish so badly that we could have saved him.

Today, saving him meant letting him go.

Run free, sweet boy. You may have lived your life on the streets and never known what it was like to belong to someone, but in your final hours, you mattered to so many people.

And you did not leave this world forgotten. 🌈🐾💔

🐾❤️ JERRY’S SPA DAY! LOOK OUT, LADIES… HE’S COMING HOME A WHOLE NEW MAN! ❤️🐾

Jerry the Pomeranian headed to RoseBird Veterinary Center this morning for what we’re calling his much-needed spa day. 😂

And this little man got the WORKS!

Today Jerry was:

✂️ Neutered
🩺 Fully examined
💉 Vaccinated
🦷 Given a much-needed dental cleaning
🦷 Had one incisor tooth extracted
✂️ Had some of his fur clipped and cleaned up
🐜 Treated for fleas

We knew Jerry’s teeth were pretty rough, so we were preparing ourselves for him to potentially need quite a few extractions. Thankfully, they weren’t nearly as bad as we feared! He needed a good dental cleaning, but only one little incisor needed to be pulled. 🙌

By the time Jerry comes home today, he’s going to be a whole new man. 😂❤️

And that means our next mission is finding this 6-year-old little guy the perfect FOREVER HOME!

We’ve only had Jerry for a short time, but his personality is already becoming VERY apparent. 😂

🐾 WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT JERRY SO FAR:

🏠 He is housebroken!

🐕 He follows you around very well off leash and has good recall, BUT he absolutely should still be kept on a leash outside. If nobody is paying attention, Jerry will happily decide it’s time to go exploring.

📣 He barks. A lot. 😂
He barks at people when he wants attention.
He barks at doors.
He barks at things he doesn’t understand.
He barks at things he thinks might be scary.

He even barks at his own reflection. 🤦‍♀️😂

Usually, once he figures out that whatever he’s yelling about isn’t going to murder him, he settles down.

🦉 He also makes a strange little noise that sounds like an OWL. We don’t know what that’s about, but apparently Jerry has decided being a Pomeranian wasn’t enough and he needed a second species.

❤️ He is SUPER friendly and absolutely loves people.

🐶🐱 He has done wonderfully with other animals.

👧 He is good with kids.

🦮 He does okay walking on a leash.

🏠 He can be crated, although he will bark for a little while before settling.

🍗 He LOVES food and is extremely food motivated, which should make training much easier.

🥺 He does seem to have a little bit of anxiety, particularly around unfamiliar things, but we haven’t seen any destructive behavior. He doesn’t chew things up or destroy anything.

🧸 So far, we actually haven’t seen him show much interest in toys. Maybe he just hasn’t discovered what being a spoiled little dog is all about yet.

🚗 And Jerry LOVES car rides! His preferred seating arrangement is, of course, directly in your lap. 😂 He is happiest being close to his person.

Basically, Jerry is a friendly, slightly anxious, food-obsessed, attention-demanding, reflection-barking, owl-impersonating little Pomeranian who would really like someone to adore him. 😂❤️

After everything that happened yesterday, we want to make absolutely sure that the next home Jerry goes to is his forever home.

His previous owner loved him very much, but with working several jobs, Jerry was spending as much as nine hours a day alone in a crate. His owner had already been trying to find someone who could give Jerry more time and attention. When he came to pick Jerry up yesterday, he ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to allow Jerry to stay with us so we could find him a home where he wouldn’t have to spend so much of his life alone.

So now we get to fulfill that promise. ❤️

Jerry deserves a home where somebody has time for him.

Someone who doesn’t mind a little barking.

Okay… maybe more than a little barking. 😂

Someone who will take him for rides, let him curl up beside them, give him plenty of attention, and remind him every single day that he is home for good.

🚨 WE CAUGHT HER!!! SHE’S ON HER WAY TO ROSEBIRD! 🚨

The cat with the severe re**al prolapse on Second Street in Williamsport has FINALLY been caught! 😭❤️

Her feeder was able to catch her, and she is on her way to Rosebird Veterinary Center right now for emergency treatment.

We have been so worried about this poor girl. She has been incredibly skittish, and with an injury like this, every hour matters. We knew she desperately needed medical care—we just had to get our hands on her first.

And now we finally have her. 😭🐾

We have no idea yet how severe the damage is, what caused the prolapse, or what the road ahead is going to look like. Right now, all we can do is get her to the vet and hope they can help her.

Please, please pray for this sweet girl. 🙏😭

Pray that the tissue can be saved.
Pray that there isn’t something more serious happening internally.
Pray that we got to her in time.

We’ll update everyone as soon as we know more.

For now… she’s caught. She’s safe. And help is on the way. ❤️‍🩹🐾

🐾❤️ NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION — EDDIE! ❤️🐾

Remember Eddie?

Eddie is the sweet little guy who was dumped behind the Shamrock Bar beside a dumpster.

A family member of one of our fosters actually witnessed two women pull up, take Eddie out of a carrier, leave him there, and drive away.

Thankfully, she was able to find him and get him safely contained before he disappeared or something happened to him.

Our foster took him in, and we named him Eddie, after Edwin Street where he was found. ❤️

Despite being abandoned like garbage by the people who were supposed to care for him, Eddie has shown us nothing but LOVE.

This boy is approximately 6 months old and is seriously one of the sweetest cats. He is incredibly friendly, affectionate and loving. He just wants attention and someone to love him. 🥹

And now, Eddie is ready for the next chapter of his life!

He has officially been:

✅ Neutered
✅ Started on his vaccines
✅ Microchipped
✅ SNAP tested NEGATIVE for FIV/FeLV
✅ Litter trained
❤️ And confirmed to be an absolute sweetheart!

We don’t know everything about Eddie’s life before that evening.

But we do know one thing:

Being abandoned behind a dumpster does NOT get to be the end of Eddie’s story.

Someone out there is going to look at this sweet boy and see what the people who abandoned him didn’t — a loving little cat who deserves to be treasured for the rest of his life. 🏡❤️

Newt originally came to us sick and fragile, but you certainly wouldn’t know it looking at him today!

This little guy has blossomed into the sweetest, most loving and affectionate kitten. He is incredibly friendly, loves attention, and is always happy to curl up for some cuddles. ❤️

Of course, he still has plenty of kitten energy too! Newt loves to play, explore, and have fun with his foster friends — but when playtime is over, he is more than happy to settle in for some love and snuggles. 🥹🐾
