🎉 DOUBLE ADOPTION UPDATE! 🎉

Today was a very special day at Heidi’s Furry Friends Rescue.

💜 Dorothy and Vixen have both been adopted! 💜

Dorothy has been with us since June of 2025 after being found in a garage in Linden, laying beside her deceased siblings. She was incredibly sick when she arrived. She was so weak that I had to tube-feed her, despite her already having a mouth full of teeth, because she simply wasn’t strong enough to eat on her own.

Over the past year, Dorothy has battled a long list of health issues and required extensive veterinary care. We invested countless hours, sleepless nights, and a significant amount of money trying to get her healthy. Because she always sounded a little congested and would occasionally have a boogery nose, potential adopters often passed her by. Month after month, she waited while other cats found homes.

To be honest, we started to think Dorothy might become a permanent resident here.

But today, someone finally saw what we saw all along.

And she was chosen.

❤️

Vixen came to us in January of 2026 after being found at the ROC Center in Williamsport.

She was extremely feral when she arrived. It took months of patience and work just to earn enough trust for her to come near us. While she made tremendous progress, she never became a cat that enjoyed being picked up or handled. Meet-and-greets were always difficult because fear would take over, and people would move on to friendlier cats.

But someone special came along today.

Instead of looking for the easiest cats to adopt, they wanted to give a chance to the two cats who had been waiting the longest.

And those two cats were Dorothy and Vixen.

Getting Vixen into the carrier was quite the adventure. Poor girl was so nervous she pooped herself during the process. But the adopters were patient, understanding, and willing to work with her every step of the way.

Those are exactly the kinds of people cats like Vixen need.

Today, two cats who spent months waiting and wondering if anyone would ever choose them finally got their happy ending.

There may have been a few tears shed around here today.

Happy life, sweet girls. We will miss you more than you know. ❤️

🐾 Dorito Update! 🐾

For those who may have missed his story, Dorito is the little kitten who was found being attacked by a tomcat. The finder knew something was wrong because he was too sick, weak, and thin to defend himself. She couldn’t find anyone else to help, so he was brought to us through Rosebird Veterinary.

When Dorito arrived, he was covered in fleas, loaded with ear mites, and battling a nasty upper respiratory infection that could have threatened his eyesight if left untreated.

Well, look at him now! ❤️

Dorito is still battling his URI and isn’t fully healed yet, but he is doing SO much better than when he first arrived. We definitely feel he is out of the woods and heading in the right direction.

And let me tell you… this little guy is an absolute sweetheart! He is so stinkin’ friendly, playful, and full of personality. Despite everything he’s been through, he purrs, plays, and acts like he doesn’t have a care in the world.

It’s amazing what a little medical care, good food, and lots of love can do. 🥰

We still have some healing to do, but we are so proud of how far Dorito has come in such a short time.

Keep growing strong, little buddy! 🧡🐾

🐾 Tiny Tim Update! 🐾

For those who may have missed his story, Tiny Tim is the tiny approximately 3-week-old kitten who was found alone on a porch in Muncy. When he arrived, he was in rough shape—severely dehydrated, anemic, suffering from a terrible upper respiratory infection, and his eyes were so badly infected that we weren’t even sure if they could be saved. We honestly weren’t sure he would survive the night.

Today, we have some good news. ❤️

While Tiny Tim still looks a little ratty, he can now completely open his eyes! 👀

He is still on antibiotics and, surprisingly, this has been one of the slowest conjunctivitis cases we’ve seen respond to treatment. There were times we worried about his eyesight, so we are incredibly thankful that his eyes appear to have been saved.

He is still being bottle-fed and remains in the incubator to help keep him warm and comfortable, but for the first time, I truly feel like we may have rounded a corner with this little guy.

He still has a long road ahead of him, but Tiny Tim is showing us that he has plenty of fight left in him. 💙

Please keep the prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes coming for our tiny warrior. Every day he gets a little stronger.

Is baby Shenzi and her little skunk tail and beard not the cutest thing in the world?! 😍

Shenzi is the kitten that was found in an Antes Fort colony where no momma could be located. When the caller went out to investigate the crying, he accidentally stepped on her. Thankfully, she is okay and doesn’t appear to have any serious injuries!

This tiny girl is absolutely full of sass and personality. She may be little, but she has a BIG attitude already! 💜

Just look at that adorable face, that skunk-striped tail, and that little beard! We are completely smitten with her already.

Welcome to Heidi’s Furry Friends Rescue, sweet Shenzi. We can’t wait to watch you grow up safe, loved, and spoiled. 🐾

💙🐾 $5 SUNDAY FOR THE BABIES 🐾💙

The intakes just keep coming.

In the last week alone, we've welcomed some of our most fragile and vulnerable cases yet:

🐾 Shenzi – found crying at a colony that has recently battled panleukopenia.

🐾 Banzai – a tiny floorboard kitten with the loudest voice you've ever heard, now learning how to eat and grow.

🐾 Zira – Banzai's sister, arriving weak, lethargic, hypoglycemic, and fighting for every ounce she gains.

🐾 Tiny Tim – found alone, unable to see, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection, dehydration, and requiring an incubator, medications, and around-the-clock care.

🐾 Ivy – the little kitten found circling in a yard, showing neurological symptoms and still undergoing evaluation to determine exactly what is causing her condition.

These are just the newest faces. Behind them are dozens of other cats and kittens depending on us every single day for food, litter, medical care, medications, formula, incubators, heating pads, flea treatments, and veterinary care.

Rescue never seems to slow down. Just when we think we can catch our breath, another animal in need arrives at our door.

Today, we're asking our supporters to join us for $5 Sunday.

If just a fraction of our followers donated $5, it would make an enormous difference for these babies and help us continue saying "yes" when the next emergency call comes in.

❤️ $5 can help buy baby food.❤️ $5 can help buy formula.❤️ $5 can help buy medications.❤️ $5 can help provide warmth, comfort, and care to a kitten that has nowhere else to go.
