Rescue horses are one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever taken on. People see the “before and after” photos, but they don’t always see the uncertainty that comes with bringing one home.

The sleepless nights wondering if they’re healthy enough to recover. The vet bills. The feed bills. The waiting. The fear of getting attached when you don’t know what the outcome will be. Sometimes you uncover more physical and emotional damage than you were prepared for. Sometimes you lose them despite doing everything right.

After losing Brie and Grandma, I truly believed my heart couldn’t handle another rescue. Loving the broken ones comes with a different kind of weight. But no matter how hard it is, I still believe these horses deserve a chance to feel safe, cared for, and wanted.

So when Haven came along, I couldn’t look away. This 20-year-old paint mare may be thin, tired, and carrying the evidence of a hard life, but she’s safe now. This is nothing a little, or a lot, of feed and love can’t fix.

Her future may still be uncertain, as many rescues are in the beginning, but she will be given every chance possible to heal and thrive.

A huge thank you to Johnny Cook for helping get her out of the situation she was in and into safety.

Rescue work is hard. It’s emotional. It’s expensive. It’s heartbreaking at times. But watching a horse finally realize they don’t have to survive anymore makes every hard part worth it.

Welcome home, Haven.

✨ Available ✨

“ Sophie” 12-year-old 14.3-15HH grade mare looking for her next home. She is currently being used consistently in a lesson program and has experience with riders of all ages, including leadline/tiny tot riders as young as 3 years old. Quiet, patient, and confidence-building type that knows her job well.

She is currently being used for walk/trot lessons with kids and has also been patterned on barrels. She will quietly pack around beginners but does have a little more “go” when doing barrel work — can get a little hot/excited in the arena, but nothing uncontrollable.

She does have a diagnosed case of kissing spine, which is fully disclosed. She received back injections approximately 6 months ago and is currently actively working comfortably in lessons. Because of this, she is being sold as-is and priced accordingly.

She can occasionally be a little hard to catch and wont back off a trailer, but no dangerous behavior under saddle.

Would make a great fit for:
• lesson program
• confident beginner/intermediate rider
• youth rider with guidance
• family horse
• confidence builder

Located in Williamson, GA. Asking mid/high fours OBO. PM for more information, videos, or to set up a time to meet her.

Let’s talk functional KT tape!

This sweet lesson horse has been in a bodywork program with me for a little over a month, and today we added functional KT taping to support the changes we’ve been working toward.

He came in with hocks turning out, loading more on the outside of his hind feet, and a slight hitch in the left hind. These taping applications were placed intentionally to encourage better limb awareness, improve tracking behind, and support more balanced movement patterns.

The goal with KT tape isn’t to “force” movement — it’s to provide feedback to the body. That sensory input can help horses become more aware of how they’re using themselves and encourage healthier compensation patterns over time.

One of my favorite parts of this work is watching these horses get more comfortable in their own bodies as they build strength, mobility, and confidence.

Every horse tells a story through movement, and it’s rewarding getting to help them move better and feel better.

I am SO excited to be a part of the Federation State Show Clinic hosted by Blue Line Performance Horses! I’m really looking forward to working with riders and helping everyone gain confidence going into show season.

We’ll be covering a variety of classes and focusing on the details that truly make a difference in the show pen—from patterns to overall presentation.

I love being able to share what I look for as a judge and help riders feel more confident and prepared when they walk into the ring. I can’t wait to meet everyone, answer questions, and be part of such a fun and educational weekend.

I’m hosting a federation show clinic this year. Open to all members of the BLPH show team. But also those who show within the FRHA pleasure division. The goal is to help us all tweak, sharpen, and fix things right before we all leave to represent our club at the state show in Perry. Message me to reserve your spot today.

This lesson horse was quietly compensating—and it showed.

On assessment, there was clear soreness through the left longissimus dorsi and right SI region, a classic example of how the body shifts load to avoid discomfort. What’s interesting is how often these horses keep doing their jobs without obvious “lameness,” but underneath, the imbalance is building.

You can see three different taping approaches here, each with a purpose.

The pink tape is helping support muscle function, improve proprioception, and encourage more correct movement patterns while the body resets.

The tan tape along the topline is applied with decompression in mind. By lifting the skin slightly, it helps reduce pressure, improve circulation, and support the back while encouraging better engagement and lift through the topline.

The neck tape is placed along the cervical musculature to help reduce tension, improve mobility, and support proper carriage. Horses that are compensating through their back and SI will often brace through the neck, so addressing this area helps break that cycle and allows for more relaxed, correct movement.

When one area hurts, another area works overtime. Over time, that compensation becomes the new “normal”… until performance, behavior, or soundness starts to decline.

Lesson horses are some of the hardest-working athletes out there. They carry multiple riders, adapt constantly, and rarely get the credit they deserve. This owner is proactive and great about following my recommendations, which makes a huge difference in keeping this horse comfortable and able to do their job well.

Regular bodywork helps:
• Reduce compensation patterns
• Improve comfort and performance
• Support longevity in their job
• Keep them feeling their best for every rider

If your horse is “fine” but not quite right, there’s usually a reason.

Message me to get your horse on the schedule—because they shouldn’t have to work through discomfort.
